So does that mean it's only for Asia? I think OH might be right... that's why 170,000 beta keys were released in Korea.wikipedia wrote:

It will be completely online, and pushed out across Japan, Taiwan, China and South Korea by Nexon - a publisher most well known for MMORPG MapleStory.
Why isn't it in Valve's site? Don't worry me guys, I want a new CS boo hoooooooo.Ryan wrote:

I find it hard to believe it is only a remake of Condition Zero when CZ was so bad.

Counter-Strike Online
As of niger 2008, Counter-Strike Online is only available in South Korea and is now in open beta test. Counter-Strike Online It is being developed by Nexon Corporation with oversight from license-holder Valve Corporation, and is an attempt to increase market share of Valve's games in the Korean gaming market.

Addition of in-game advertising
In March 2012, Valve implemented mandatory advertisements through Steam in official maps and in the game's GUI overhead. Customers have expressed frustration with the ads, including an over 7m page thread on Valve's official forums, saying that they violate original terms of service and distract from the game.[6] The thread was later deleted by an unknown moderator.

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Like I said, it's being published by Valve and Nexon, so we should get it too.
It's a bit too early to see though.
edit: Argh Floppy, I hope that first quote ain't true. Maybe they will change it by the time it releases...
There's always torrents and keygens though

No, it is being licensed by Valve. Published and developed by Nexon.Ryan wrote:

I'm gunna go pout now
This looks awful!
The same recycled maps (People are still not bored of 1000 24/7 dust2 maps 8 years on?!?) with the latest shiny graphics which will ultimately look outdated within a year. I don't understand why a games developer wants to 're-release' a game with nicer graphics and a few additions just to keep up with the latest and greatest... CS 1.6 is amazing, CS:Source is a good game... where's the need for CS: Online?
Please don't flame; me love Counter-Strike longtime! Played 1.3 on leagues religiously, and own all of the Counter Strike series. I just don't 'get' where they pull the demand for CS;Online from, or rather I just don't understand the point of it at all. If I'm missing something here, will somebody please kindly point it out. Then I can re-evaluate my opinion on this absolute tosh.

I love the way you guys think it's got great graphics when it's using the Goldscr engine (Half-Life 1 engine).
In the trailer it looks nice...Fat_Swinub wrote:

It's Wikipedia. It's not a credible source for anything. User edited. it's like if I said "Ronald Reagan Killed Darth Vader in 1988" and everyone took it for fact. Wikipedia needs to be taken for a grain of salt if you want hard facts.FloppY_ wrote:

That would be sick if Reagan killed Vader though.

I actually agree with this. Aside from the "it looks awful" comment as it looks very puurdy. Still, what is the point? It's the same tired old game with the same tired old maps, (granted a few new ones but be realistic people most servers will still be 24/7 Dust,) and same old and annoying people playing it, (no offence but if you want to find a dickhead online, Counter-Strike is your best bet.)Uzique wrote:

I do believe CS online is introduced for KOREAN players who have difficulty playing CS using Steam, or those who do not use Steam.Ty wrote:

Just for this reason, there are a lot of CS copy-like games being played in Korea, but nothing is successful.
The reason why I believe this is because I saw the logo of Nexon at the end of the trailer.

Nexon makes asian games, expect horrible support from Nexon and horrible quality too. Sorry. Hopefully Valve will release the OFFICIAL new CS. Made by them, published by them.
Way to be anticlimactic, OH.OrangeHound wrote:

I thought they already had a Counter-Strike for the asian market, it was all manga and crap...
