Well im from aus so you all know the internet down here is shit i dont have adsl2+ in my area so im stuck with the adsl1 512k and its shit slow but when i try to download torrents i should be getting 50kbs but instead its more like 10kbs and drops down then goes up then drops to like 2kbs not sure what the problem is..

Ive tried it with diff programs utorrent, bitlord, azureus and they all have the same problem the torrents im downloading have loads of seeds so that must not be the problem.

When im downloading normally off the internet i get my full speed not sure why the problem is with torrents.

You could be getting "Torrent Throttled" have you tried encrypting the downloads?

Within Utorrent there is an option (tick box) to encrypt data, tick that and it should hopefully fix your problem

Yes the encrypt data box was already ticked when i looked. But what you where saying about being throttled sounds about right.

Not much more I can advise you on really. When I got throttled the encryption fixed the problem for me. Another option might be either selecting random ports with in Utorrent or port forwarding

Yea im not sure it says the port im using is connected and running ok but its slowing it down so much its not even worth using really. Must have something to do with my internet service provider optus.

Are other downloads also slow? If not, it might just be a bad tracker.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

More and more ISPs are starting to slow down torrent downloads by various means.

Thats a list of bad ISP in Australia. If you are on one of them than try googling "your ISP name throttling torrent fix" and hope for the best

There are many factors involved with dl rates in torrents. seed/peer ratio, internet connection, good/bad trackers, the server hosting the file, if you are using the computer while its dling. Just be patient and do somehting constructive while it dling.
