Yep, it's happened to me too, except on Wake.
It is a well known glitch.

Its a very very old bug...
It doesn't actually add a 7th though, its just what shows on the menu.
Ive been the 7th and you aren't really in the squad, your name is just green, and you show on the list.
If I'm not mistaken you cant spawn on SL or use Voip.
People post this a lot on the PR forums as proof they could mod the game to have > 6 player squads.

This has happened to me as well. BF3 battalion feature making an earlier appearance? j/k

I thought it's when you invite a few people to the squad, other people join, and you press page up to join, hence 7 players.
I've seen 8 players in 1 squad before, that was on texas team players.

Its a bug. 1 guy from the squad can't spawn on his SL nor leave the squad.
I think I've got up to 9, definitely 8 before. Its amazing though if they're good squad members on a map like Wake, you're on the US, and your SL knows what hes doing-easy basecapping.
Never seen this in bf2. I've had it happen to me a butload in 2142 where i've frequently seen 9 man squads but never in bf2.
