American leadership =/= Americans. Same with other countries.

If people say Bush sucks and the Iraq war was a crime, Gitmo is plain wrong etc. etc. then they aren't saying Americans are the problem, but the policies of the leadership are.

You can't sensibly blame the populace for the policies that are inflicted upon them.

There's plenty of evidence to support the hostile view of the US leadership. Looking at UN votes shows a huge gulf between the policies of the US and the rest of the world on important topics like nuclear proiferation, peace in the middle east, international law and the environment. Polling data repeatedly shows similar things. Polling data also regularly shows a sharp divide between US policy and the opinions of US citizens. While the leadership are busying themselves trying to prove that global warming doesn't exist, more than half of Americas populace believe global warming is already underway.

- Everyone bashes everyone, because multiple countries bash america it seems they are all against you. Multiple countries bash Canada, France, Britain etc, doesn't mean the whole world is against France for example

- The US is a great fat sitting duck of a target, its just too easy, and fun, to bash the US. Thats why so many people do it. Its a bit like picking on the fat spotty kid no-one likes. Its not big or clever but you do it anyway.

- Bashing the US and in particular its draft-dodging alcoholic President doesn't mean we hate every living American. Its not our fault you've been brainwashed from a young age by your daily pledge to believe the President is God and America itself rolled into one.

OTOH US foreign policy has been a complete disaster for the past 50 years so what do you expect?

In fact, I like the USA, and would probably go back if Bush weren't in office, and my being Brazilian with a Lebanese heritage wasn't a possible "threat"...

This along with a few other examples makes your post quite laughable....Do us all a favor and stay in Brazil, regardless of who is president.

Actually, I'm also Swiss, but I live in the UK. I don't hate Americans, I just hate the high obesity rate. Please stop picking out parts of my post and posting them out of context, and start reading. The UK is actually second, after the USA, so I'm living in the runner-up country. I just don't like the amount of people who look like balls on the streets.

Answer the question, what does someones weight have to do with you? you are no less shallow than those you apparently loath....Stay in the UK then.

Conversely it's interesting to note, who has not been a foe of humanities worst ? Pick your own examples.

Which nations did not face off with China, USSR, Iran, Iraq, Hitler, Castro, Pol Pot  etc etc.

Heck, I have an uncle that's overweight. It's not healthy. I see him struggle to get up stairs and how frustrated his wife gets sometimes. Frankly, yes, it is none of my business, but I don't want people doing that to themselves, the same way I don't really want people to smoke...

But you've only really focused on one of my points. Does that mean you concur with the rest?

nope, I do not concur, the rest are simply a matter of opinion. Your obesity comment was hypocritical and shallow, just like your accusations.

I do not care if people smoke, I say inhale deep and long...The sooner you die off the less of you non-smokers have to put up with.

Accusations? If you meant the thing about my Lebanese heritage, it's becoming really hard for people of Arabic heritage in the USA. As for my other points, they all stand.
I don't like smoking the same way I don't like obesity. It isn't shallow - it's just that it's not healthy, and I don't feel like having them as a burden. Furthermore, it just shows that fast food is much cheaper/easier to get than proper food in the USA, which I find sad.

Dont think so, it is well known around the world that Americans hate bush like the rest seem to (its about the only thing people have in common with your average 'joe').  The problem is, the small obnoxious percentage of Americans who feel they must remind the rest of the world, they are the greatest.  And, this fisad if you like, is tagged onto all Americans rightly or wrongly. 

It's like saying, sony is a money making giant with no regard to its customers.  Not so, you will have hard working employes of that company, yet because of the small group who have a say (share holders) that tag no customer service is put upon everyone.  It's the exact same thing when it comes to countries, if people are watching on TV, people in power (not always politically)  saying 'AMERICA THE GREATEST COUNTRY EVER' on a regular basis, your, going to get fairly pissed after a while.

Infact, exactly like you say, a small 'elitist attitude towards Americans'.  Look at that from the other direction, its just as likely to be a small elitist group of Americans, constantly pushing the idea of low how great we are.

Hate, is probably to strong, bored is more likely the case, in the sense, bored of hearing about it.

Finially, your right jealousy has a lot to do with it, although perhaps not in the sence, I wish I was American, more likely, 'I wish we had so much of a reputation to shout about'.
