Time to start drooling over these...

Nehalem A1(CPU Frequency 1Ghz ,QPI Frequency 1.66Ghz ,Superpi run 3min..)

Gigabyte 7TESN-RN

They are alive and kicking

They use new LGA1366 socket so we need new mobos for these. of course.

And oh yes. The old HyperThreading technology is back. Doesn't that look nice? (two quad core Nehalems with hyper threading = 16 cores shown in windows)

Source: too many to start listing here. lol.

I'll update this thread when some new info comes out.

Now lets all hope that AMD releases something really powerful so we can get these faster.

In all seriousness they really should have made the socket 1337. It would have been great for advertising.

How the hell do the Chinese get these prototypes first?

I guess it kinda helps that you live next to the factory.

All of them.. Every digit known to man!

But srsly, nothing even really even takes full advantage of 4 cores right now, let alone 16...

fap fap? the clock speed isn't that fast, and how many programs use all 4 cores of a quadcore these days? and then I'm not even talking about 16 cores

the first CPU is ES sample at 1Ghz. The second CPU is ES Sample at 2.133Ghz. Nehalems have memory controller integrated to the CPU like AMD has. And also the chip has had a lot tweaking so expect it to absolutely pwn any C2Q at the same frequenzy.

It was because of this CPU, and, nvidia's laughable attempt to get us onto the '9' series GPU that I descided to shelf my plan on building a new high end machine.  I'll just be going with a fairly medicore one till christmas

Hah, you and me both mate.

Next build for me will be the next generation CPU and GPU, with 4-8GB DDR3 RAM as well *drools*. (Ok, maybe the 8GB DDR3 is overkill )

And are my eyes fooling me, or are those 12 RAM holders? Does that mean that we can get 24GB RAM?

Mmm well last time I checked, there road map had a ship date of Q4 08, but, with intel, they change that road map almost on a weekly basis, you'd expect to see them dribble onto the market by year end.

Server mobo. (presumably) Or else someone thinks we're going to have a lot more disposable income in the next 6 months...

The Q9450's are hardly available.  They're out of stock at Newegg and Tiger Direct doesn't even sell them at all.  And you expect the Nehalem's to be out this year?  I highly doubt it.
