Xfire doesn't cause the crashes when it gives you the error dialogue, it just takes over the error-reporting and the debug log.

Ah, obviously a different error to the 'normal' one I had in mind when reading your message .

On the Xfire Forums lots of people accuse Xfire of causing crashes, because they simply misunderstood that Xfire compiles debug reports whenever there is a DirectX crash.
