So recently, I've been suffering from Insomnia.. Whenever I try and fall asleep I just lay there for hours right into the morning, getting no sleep at all.. and then when It's finally time for me to get up, I feel like going to bed.

I don't think its really my sleep pattern.. The latest I've been going to bed on the weekends has been 2 AM for the last week or so.. and during school nights im in bed by at least 11:30 - 12:00.. I have to get up at 7.

So the Night before Last, I got maybe.. 2 hours of sleep. I figured I'd go out and by some sleep aid to make sure that I got a good sleep last night. So I went out, bought some Extra Strength Nytol. because its not fun going to school, and then work with 2 hours of sleep and a fucking massive headache. So I took 1, tried to go to sleep... Nothing. I stood awake all night. Usually in the morning I can catch at least a few hours sleep, but I couldn't even get that. So then I was fucking dead today, I went out and bought a case of redbull, drank all 4.. Didn't do much.. Called in sick to work, because I'm pretty sure I'd be lost at work without much sleep..

I'm not really that stressed out, everything in my life is going good..

If anything, I'm stressed out over why I can't sleep, which just makes me more stressed because then I don't get any sleep.. Its like a continuing cycle that I can't break..

Maybe I'll try taking 2 sleeping pills today, see if that knocks me out.. The last 48 hours I've slept maybe 2 hours.. Go me.

I've had the flu for the past week and some kind of ear infection and I have only slept 3 hours each night. I miss sleep

OK firstly, fuck the sleeping pills, they just make it harder to sleep in the long run. Usually when I can't sleep I find myself thinking about random stuff which in turn makes me stay awake longer, I just put the TV on and watch that, 9/10 times I'll fall asleep while watching it (obviously have the TV turn itself off after an hour or so, sleep timers FTW).

I have had that before, and recently, 2 nights ago.
I had a week off from school, went to bed at 10:00pm-11:00pm and woke up at 8am or 9am, everyday of the week.

Sunday night, I went to bed at 10:00pm, having to wake up at 7:20am. I could not get to sleep no matter what. My heart was racing, and I had no caffeine or energy drinks previously. So by 11:00pm, I was watching TV. I tried going back to sleep, but my heart kept racing and pounding my my chest. So I ended up watching TV until 12:30am. My eyes eventually got heavy enough that I fell asleep for half an hour. I woke up with the TV on. I shut it off and slept the rest of the night.

Last night, I went to bed at 10:00pm again, and slept all the way until 7:20am, didn't wake up once.

Sorry about the situation you are in Victim, but it should go away soon, hopefully.

Maybe you're subconsciously worrying about Lindsey running off with bennis the moment he becomes your PA

I don't have to worry about that, because I'm pretty sure he'd know I'd kill him

But ya, your advice is always good Bennis..

I had some insomnia during the summer. I was bouncing so I was at work until 2:30-3am every night. I would get home and not be able to sleep, so I would start playing computer games and drinking until I passed out around 7-8am and waking up at 10am. It was a nasty cycle that I broke by changing my diet and working out.

haha that n the fact I live in a different continent

Also I may be good at advisin, but I'm crap at listenin to my own advice, I always think what I would advise a friend to do then go and do the complete opposite, every single time , Like I advised myself to go to bed hours ago cos I have an early lecture in the mornin, but I'm still here

But yeah try the excercis a little while before bed and hopefully it'll help.

Now I'm off to bed (bare in mind I'll probs be back in 5)

Some people are meant to be nightowls not that great but you´ll get used to it. Read on DSPS ( Delayed sleep phase syndrome ) for a good read. Not saying that´s your case but it´s good to know.

Also trying to go to sleep is often contra-productive your laying there thinking i have to fall asleep certainly won´t speed the process up, when i have to switch my sleep phase ( happens often cause of shifts ) i sleep for a maximum of a few hours during 1-3 days then i usually phase back, or if your in a hurry skip one nights sleep completely works every time not recommended though.

Sometimes its diet. Obviously if you drink too much soft drinks it will keep you up at night, however sometimes what you eat keeps you up. I`ve had that before; not sleeping at night etc, and wondering what it is.

Try not to drink soft drinks at night, as obvious as it might be.

i suffer terrible from not getting sleep, mainly due to my job, here are some tips

1, make sure your room is not to hot, sleep with the window open
2, have a really hot shower or bath 20 mins b4 you go to bed, the reason this helps is that heating your body up, then letting it cool down will relax you and help you sleep
3, try not to eat much b4 bedtime, maybe a light snack 3 hours b4 you are going to hit the sack, nothing that takes ages to  burn off and not to sugary, obviously no caffine TEA OR COFFE
4, try reading a book whilst in bed, nothing to exciting or your wanna get to the next chapter and wont be able to put it down
5, as above knock one out lol

hope some of these tips work, not being able to sleep is a fucking nightmare

What is your average diet?  What is your recent diet?  Your body chemistry can change depending on what you are eating.  Certain foods may affect your sleep adversely, similar to having an allergy.

Well.. I tried almost everything so far...

I've rubbed one out, done like 200 sit ups and leg raises, watched TV, Listened to music.. Nothing.

The only thing I got left is the Nytol pill.. I'm gonna take it, I hope it knocks me out this time.
