Why does everyone love the Antec 900?

It seems that everyone thinks it's the shit, and I'll admit, I've told a lot of people to get it. But today I tried using it (as in putting stuff in and out), and it was a complete pain in the ass.

The fact that you have to screw off some thumbscrews to open the door, sucks in itself. But say you want to add a harddrive. You'll have to first take off both sides of the case, unscrew the HDD case, remove the cabling that has been done to all the HDDs you already have there, REMOVE THE GRAPHICS CARD, take out the HDD case, mount your HDD, insert HDD Case, Screw the HDD Case to the PC, connect the HDD cables, insert graphics card and finally put the sides back on. I've been told that I could've slipped the HDD case out the front, but that is still way too complicated.

With my Antec Sonata case, I only need to follow 3 simple steps: 1) screw HDD to HDD holder, 2) slide holder into PC, 3) connect wires to the new HDD.

Also, the Antec 900 is a complete bitch when it comes to cable management.

Yeah, maybe it has more fans, but I'd prefer my Sonata.

I like something simple and classy like the P180.

looks cheap ? maybe on pictures, not in real (in my eyes)

all about taste, like it pretty well myself... lights in the front are with the 2 fans.

it looks good and the cooling is immense...simply as
people buy it cus of this regardless of it relatively small size etc

i have it containin my rig atm . the fittin an cable management is a pain ...if i want to clean or change components...i have to remove several thumbscrews and after using it for a while im realising the in-practicality of it ....especially the amount of dust it draws into my pc ..which is horrible..

i would love a coolermaster cosmos there amazin

I've seen many of them close up - built several machines in them. They are awkward to use and look absolutely disgusting. I would say it's as though Antec haven't heard of elegance, but they built the P180, which is beautiful.

I agree that it looks crap as well.

I'd much rather have a slick black/brushed aluminium case without windows. Clean and simple.

I put a PC with an antec 900 case together last weekend

You don't need to remove your graphics card to install a new harddrive. The real steps: take off front of case, remove thumbscrews on hdd cage, slide out hdd cage, install hard drive, put cage back in, put screws and front of case back on.

It is true that there are almost no cable management options. It's a lot less spacious than you'd think as well. However, the fans are awesomely quiet.

In the end it's not worth 100 euro's for an average case with good airflow.

In fact, you only need to remove the hdd cage once, to take off the piece of plastic at the back. After that you can install hdd's the normal way.

As I said, it's not an awesome case all in all, but it's definitely not bad either. I love my TT Soprano way more, decent cable management makes a world of difference.
