Your house looks kind of neat. A windowed wall inside? or is that the wall of the house and the bike is in some really nice sunroom?

Very nice! Hope there's a place you can ride it without pedestrians to worry about!

Excellent forks. Fox are one of the best. 200mm?

As for frame... I would have gone for a Specialized or Orange, but I guess that one is okay.

The back suspension, how many mm's?

Brilliant brakes and brake handles. Sturdy wheels.

I don't have a bike that good, but one of my friends has a £16 grands worth one, and he can't shut up about it. So I know a fair bit about bikes.

The windowed wall you can see is the outside of the house (originally) but a conservatory was built after which is where the pictures are taken.

+ thanks for the other comments

I'd be happy to advise anyone with questions if they're do to with mtb'ing

Yeah, I love Fox - they're amazing.   Nah, 160mm (TALAS RC2).

Rear suspension is 160mm like the front.

I used to have an Orange frame:

I was looking for something lighter with more travel - I can luckily have both of those as frame technology has moved on alot since I had my other bike which is quite old now.

Fuck dude that is sweet! Not a huge fan of Cube frames, they're a little XC for my tastes but by all means it should go up and down hills brilliantly. And you got Formula The One brakes, you cunt! I want some desperately, but at 160 quid an end it's hard to justify. How much did that lot set you back? Cube's are pretty good value for money I must say though.

I refuse to believe he has a 16k bike, unless he's a roadie in which case it *may* be possible.

Yeah, most of the Cube models are more XC orientated but this one is the expection.

Those brakes...ooof, VERY good - you can adjust the bite point which is actually surprisingly useful depending how you want them to feel.

I got it for £2000 including pedals. (Managed to get £100 off from the dealer + free pedals).

Yeah, I can't believe how they can do such a good spec for so cheap....! Those forks retail for £690 on their own!

Probably because it hasn't become properly established as a 'good' brand yet even though they've been round for over 10 years. I'm fine with that!

Ok, you do that. Does it bother me? No. Your pointless comment is appreciated.

Believe before you see. He does. Over a year he has upgraded it and spent over 16 grand on it. The starting bike price was 8. A hand made modified Orange. Then he changed the forks and back suspension and shit.

James, you should have looked at the Santa Cruzs. They have the best lightweight bikes. Downhill much?

Bah, back in my day a bike was just a frame and some wheels with standard pad brakes, and we didn't need no suspension to jump over the local creek, oh no we didn't

Don't spaz out dude, I'm just looking for some slight more specifics here. You cannot buy an 8k bike, and you certainly cannot just go spend another 8k on top of that. But you've got me curious, so do you have any more specifics/pictures/whatever? Could you get some? I'm not trying to be a cock, I just have never, ever heard of anything you could do to a bike to make it worth that much, and I have been into bikes a long time.

Mmmm, I love Santa Cruz but to get the same spec (ish) bike is more like £3000.

I went on a mountain biking course/weekend and I tried another guy's Santa Cruz Nomac which was amazing, 6inch front and back like mine, same weight too!

But yeah, out of my price range!
