with the specs that are in my signature and using a 20'' widescreen monitor that runs at both 60Hz or 75Hz

what would be the best resolution?

the higher resolutions 1600x1200 and 1400x1080 only have the 60Hz option
where as the slightly lower resolutions like 1200x1024 runs at 75Hz

I currently have it set on 1200x1024 at 75Hz and get 99-102 FPS

I want the best possible graphics and just wanted to know what you guys  would choose?

thanx for any info you guys post

Highest resolution your rig can handle.
Not using the native resolution on an LCD looks like shit.

The Hz's don't matter that much on an LCD.

What type of monitor do you have - CRT or LCD/TFT?

I personally find 60hz on a CRT too flickery, so would stick with 1200x1024.

However, strictly speaking LCD/TFT's don't have a 'refresh frequency' (measured in 'hz'), rather they have 'refresh latency' (measured in 'ms') and, as Gawwad differences in latency have less effect on LCD/TFTs than differences in frequency on a CRT.

Also, as Gawwad said, if you do have an LCD/TFT you will get the best image quality by running at the monitors 'native resolution'.

Your native resolution followed by the quickest refresh rate your monitor can handle.

my native RES should be 1600x1050 but there is no option for that and I have had ZERO luck
with manually setting it.

How do I manually set it to 1600x1050 with 75Hz ?

thanx again

Try looking for a config file in the BF2 folder.

Add +szx 1600 +szy 1050 after the bf2 target path (Right click bf2 shortcut, > Properties).

there's a widescreen fixer program that will let you set this resolution, and is approved for use with punkbuster.
