I've seen this.. it annoyed me at first...but haven't seen it recently on wake.

The REALLY weird thing though, today i was playing Kubra Dam and the MEC SAT trailer belonged to USMC.

so yea.. USMC had 2 SAT trailers...

Ok I will update my previous statements.

I tried an experiment on Kubra Dam 64 players map while playing USMC. We took the Infield (The MEC Base with Airfield, Helicopter pads etc.) and some other Spec Op guy blew up their UAV and Scan. I was playing an engineer and I went over to these two commander assets and YES it allowed me to fix them even though they are technically the MEC's assets. I fixed them and they appeared on our map on our side. I spoke with the US Commander as I was a Squad Leader and he verified that they indeed appeared as assets on the US side. He reported a faster UAV recharge rate than normal.

So apparently you can do this on Kubra Dam as well. Which makes me wonder if this works on ALL maps and we just have never realized it before?

So stay tuned as we continue this experiment on other maps. So far it seems to work on Wake 2007 and Kubra Dam.

Add to this thread with other verified examples of this event on other maps please.

I really want to see if this works on all maps including those that have uncapturable flag points (US side of Karkand, MEC side for Sharqi Penn etc.) or if this only works on maps where enemy commander assets are on capturable flag point.

A new feature I've never heard about and is not in any patch notes nor is it in the book. What is this secret functions easter eggs courtesy of EA? Or is this a bug that only came to being after patch 1.03? Does it only work on 64 player maps or does it also work on 32 or 16 player maps?

Well that would make for annoying gameplay, but does that mean that once you have destroyed their artillery, if you can get an engineer from your team to repair it, than couldnt you in effect 'steal' it?

Yes. This would give the engineer's team effectively more commander assets than originally given. That is why I need help from people here to test this theory seriously. If we can prove it and when it's able to happen then we can include that in our Wiki area.

it is implied above that this only happens if they are destroyed, the flag capped, and then repaired. So try it, go engineer and get a spec ops in your squad, tell him what you want to try, and try it. then come back here and tell everyone what happened.

To add to the litany of confused voices: I have also had a situation on Wake where blowing up the Chinese artillery resulted in multiple instances of 'team vehicle damage'.

Also if you destroy assets sometimes they will automagically repair themselves. I don't know how, or why, or for what reason, but they seem to become fully repaired bythemselves. No engineer and no supply crates. On certain times I have seen a line of 3 enemy art pieces become our art pieces in what I reguard as the same fashion as the equipment fixes itself.

the equipment fixes itself after a certain amount of time automatically, on all maps i believe. its really annoying to go enginner when you've just noticed that your teams's shit is down, only to spawn, sprint there, and see it all back to normal.

I have seen this happen. Perhaps in my first example this is why the artillery was suddenly fixed however because the US held the airfield at the time it defaulted to their ownership instead of PLA.

A bug is always like clock work. It happend during certain circumstances and you if you do the same thing again it will happend again. The problem is that folks usually don't know what the did when it occured and therefore cannot redo it and thinks that it's random. But it's not. Why should it be possible to own the other teams artillery at this (crap)map when you cannot do it at any other map.

Almost samething for me, I was playing chinese and we had the airfield. All cannons were blown up so I went to repair but could only repair one, the other two were broken, yes broken, and I couldn't repair them for anything.

I think this works for all maps were bases with arty uav ect can be captured = Dragon Valley,Clean Sweep, Sharqui, Karkand, Kubra dam.
