Lol but you re probably right!

M95 - i hardly ever used it, i prefer the m24 and its by far the worst unlock i picked.
L85a1 - i only use it when i cant use my g36e.(tho i m happy i picked it cause if i didnt i wouldnt have my G36e off course!)
Scarl - hardly ever use it, i prefer the g36c.

The Jackhammer takes getting used to, and also relies on good pistol coordination. It's a good weapon, although on maps with more open spaces, I prefer the pump shotgun.

The unlocks I regret. Okay, well I don't like the G3 much. I thought I would, but I just don't. I use the F2000 more, although that has it's faults too.

The L85A1 I don't like either, and simply got it to get the G36E, which I'm enjoying a lot. The L85A1 is too bulky when unzoomed, and what's with the scope's 'crosshair'? Not cool. However, in the right hands it can be very good. I seem to remember getting killed by it a lot yesterday.

I'm actually okay with the SMGs, even though their accuracy sucks, I'm mostly AT when in a functioning squad so I have people with more accurate weapons to help me at longer range. The support class weapons also lack accuracy, and I'm a man who likes accuracy, which is why I don't play support much. I have the PKM, which I thought would make my play Support more. It has, but no to the extent that I was hoping.

Edit: Thankfully they're improving the M95 in the new patch, making sure the bullets don't fly sideways like the other guns. Sniper rifles are designed not to do this EA and Dice have realised, so now they'll only have bullet drop I think. They're planning to make the crosshair thinner too at my request.
I don't like the fact that people defame the M95 by teamkilling with it. Those people can go to Hell.

Barrett (M95) is the worst ... its accuracy for a sniper rifle is bad. My accuracy since moving back to the M24 is increadible

goddamn - i don't, like, totally suck, but i simply cannot hit anything with the PKM. at all. not even when i am lying prone, 3 feet behind my target, who has his back to me, aiming straight at his trunk, while he's afk. i can use up a whole belt, and he still has enough time to return from the bathroom, sit down, put his headphones back on, turn around, pull out his knife, walk over to me and stab me in the face.

...

can someone pleeeeeease give me some pkm tips?

also, i have to say that the G3 simply pwns all in close quarters. it's one of my favorite unlocks...

I liked the L85A1 until I didn't play BF2 2 months .... After this pause i HATE it... But I have the G36E  - which is the best weapon of the game atm.

The Jackhammer is quite ok ... But I think somehow the MP7 is the most useless unlock... Its quite cool sometimes but it just isnt powerful enough for an unlock weapon. But when I play SF i like (and use) it.

definitely. after getting my sniping skills up, i use the m24 whenever i can. i only use the m95 when playing non-west, and then if i get a counter-snipe close enough to me, i try and make it over to the kit to swap rifles. i get way more kills with the '24

Worst unlock? Without a doubt the L85.

The M95 will be improved in the next patch. EA have realised that they made it suck too much.

The usefulness of the standard weapons and unlocks really depends on the combat situation that you are in and the kits that you like to play.  Based on a lot of conversations I have read, most people say they either love or hate a weapon because they don't know how to use it or are not using it in the proper situation.  I have found there to be a situation for just about all the weapons in the game except for maybe the MP5 and MP7.

ASSAULT WEAPONS:  The M16A2 and the G36E are superior to all of the assault weapons in most situations.  A lot of people don't like the 3 round burst, but it has a distinct advantages over the other weapons because of the fast fire rate.  In a close fight where both me and the other player are trying to evade each other while firing, I find that I am able to find my mark with 4 bullets a lot faster than the opponent with the AK-101 or AK-47.  They both have the lowest average for recoil and in single-shot, their accuracy are far better at long range than the others.

The biggest disappointment is the L85A1 with the F2000 coming in a distant second.   The L85A1 is just plain trash, in my opinion.  At close range, you will lose just about every confrontation.  Its biggest problem is its stopping power vs its fire rate.  With a 600 fire rate and a damage of 32 per bullet, it gets trounced by all of the other assault weapons.  That is tied with the damage of the G36E, but the G36E has a fire rate of 900 with far better accuracy.  Do the math.  I think most people liked it because it was the only pre-BF2:SF  assault weapon with a scope.  For those that know how to use the iron sights, you are better off with the M16A2.

For the F2000, you might as well be using an AK-101.  To anybody that knows how to use the iron sights, the scope does not offer any advantage and to be frank, I find the crosshairs for the F2000 very distracting and in the way.  Perhaps they should be anouther color or something.  The weapon isn't bad per say, but I guess I expected something different from the other weapons.

CARBINES:  G36C is as accurate as a laser.  My favorite.  Least deviation, least average recoil, least average recoil while zoomed.  The SCAR-L is a close second.  If I think I am going to need to plink somebody from long distance, I will pick this one, but most situations really don't warrant its selection over the G36C.  I won't say I was disappointed in it though.  The M4 was probably the biggest disappointement for the Carbines.  Its only real advantage was the red dot, but if you compare it against the AK-74U (which also has the red dot), the M4 loses dramatically due to the AKs higher damage.

SUBMACHINE GUNS:  I will preface this with...they all suck.  Both the MP5 and MP7 reek.  Before I was able to upgrade to the DAO, I had plenty of situations where I would have the drop on somebody and fire my MP5 almost point blank into their back....only to have my victim turn around and blast me into spaghetti.  The MP5s problems are many, starting with its per shot damage being 1 point lower than a PISTOL?!?  Low accuracy beyond short range to the point where it takes an average of a half clip to drop somebody.  While I didn't bother upgrading to the MP7, looking at the stats of the weapon makes it absolutely the worst weapon in the game (no joke).  In essence, one is better off using a pistol due to the better accuracy and damage.

LIGHT MACHINE GUNS:  No real runaway winner or loser here.  The PKM is slightly better than the basic LMGs, but its main drawback is its loud noise.  I have noticed that this tends to draw unwanted attention towards the direction of whoever is firing it.  All of the LMGs suffer from horrible accuracy even when prone to the point where DICE really needs to tighten up the shot groups on them at least for the short to medium range engagements.

SHOTGUNS:  The type of shotgun will dictate how your tactics on how you use it.  The pump-actions are excellent if you have the drop on somebody and are within range.  They are forgiving because of the shot spread and do the most damage per shot for small arms.  Of course, the disadvantage is that they are pump actions, but if you have a steady hand...you are money.  I have blasted three people at a flag point to paste before they even knew they were being attacked.  The SK12, DAO, and Jackhammer are essentially the same weapons.  The Jackhammer's automatic fire is not that much of an advantage due to the recoil, so most people end up firing it like a semi-auto anyway.  The automatics allow one to start firing at less than optimal distances to score some light hits.

SNIPER RIFLES:  Best sniper rifle depends on the range of the target and its aspect in relation to you.  For targets that are at far range, M24 all the way.  I can shoot a pimple off your nose from distances that have surprised even myself.  However, its bolt-action mechanics means that if you are within short to medium distances and somebody finds your location, you are probably dead if you don't kill the person on the first shot.  Also, targets that are moving laterally to your position present a challenge to drop, especially with one shot.  As a M24 sniper, I always try to put myself in a position where the targets are going towards or away from me if they have to move.  The SVDs and Type-88s are just as good as the M24 at short to medium distances and in many ways, are better than the M24 because they give you about 4-times the margin of error.  I can get off about 4 accurate shots at short to medium range in the amount of time it takes an M24 operator to get one shot off, reload, and reaquire the target.  In addition, the SVD/Type-88 are better at hitting moving targets from any aspect to my position since they are semi-automatics.

For counter sniping...at long distances, an M24 sniper holds the advantage due to the accuracy.  However, when going against the SVD or Type-88 at medium ranges, you will lose unless you have cover that you can pop up and down from.  When using the SVD/Type-88, I am able to time the shots on the M24 to get out of scope, dodge, and then scope and fire again.

M95 was a huge disappointment.  No more damage than the M24...but it does damage to light vehicles and through armored glass.  Whoopdee-do.  Plus, it is so damn loud, I might as well put pop a smoke grenade on my position.

::damn...this ended up being longer than I wanted.::

I think it's the person and not the weapon.

But if I had to say, it would be the SCAR-L. Does anyone use this weapon?

The person who said the G3 sucks, doesn't know how to use it properly, it's my favorite to use in SF, and yeah you have to get used to the F2000, use single shots, but in close you are done for. Too many people using the tube, so laying down with a LMG is considered instant death (unless you are on Iron Gator). By far the Medic unlock G36E is the best unlock, it's basically the spec ops with a 3 shot burst and the M36 unlimited fire.

But it all depends on the type of fighting and kit you like.

Most usless gun in WHOLE game: MG36, This weapon is just as good as the RPK-74, no more, no less, IMO.
2nd runner up: SCAR-L, do I have to explain? Just look at its stats, no better than the M4.
Unlock I regret: SCAR-L (Should have gotten the MP7)

BTW: G36E SUCKS in CQC, good at medium ranges.

Wow, we must have a group of unskilled people here I must say. All the medic unlocks are good. Both the L8 and g36e. Yes, the latter is better, but out of ALL the UNLOCKABLES, you pick the L8? That thing snipes better then the friggin M95 does. Just because you can't ALWAYS spray with it and hit your target doesn't mean it sucks. Sharqi Pen. I'll prone on a hill and hit people twice from across the map and kill em. Granted I'm not a medic alot so what's that tell ya. I like to go for my badges so I use each kit evenly. If you checl ( 8th{E}_SpawnXG ) you'll see I have each around 15 - 20 hours. Spec ops is a bit more cause I like the pistol.

Anywho, my most useless unlock is the G3. WAIT ! I say this because I don't use assault much at all. When I do, I like to be able to shoot my grenades, cause I suck ass at throwing them. Lol. No, I'm not a "noob toober." I just prefer to hit something when I aim at it. Hand grenades, I'm not so hot with.

Overall, I say the most useless unlock would be the...

M95.

Reason: It's good for body shooting then pistoling, but overall as a sniper it removes that player from the game and is worthless to his team. Unless maybe, you use it as a supporting unit to steal/weaken kills.

The End.

I find the G3 is a conosuiers weapon, you can get single shot kills quite easily when you aim, although it loses accuracy fast on automatic. But I would say the MP5 & PLA equivalent are by far the worst, more embarassing being killed by them than a knife The MEC PP-19 isnt that bad thanks to a massive mag & high rate of fire. But remember L85A1 haters, it gets upgraded in the next patch ;-)

the m249 is such a crap weapon. you can prone and sight and still miss targets five feet in front of you. which is a shame because it's the best looking LMG imo, and really feels like a machine gun when being fired. it's just one of those weapons that i use because it's fun to shoot, even though i have both the mg36 and pkm unlocked.

the QBZ-95 is the most underrated weapon in the game, i think. people never use it because almost everyone has the g36c unlocked. it's so easy to hit people with the QBZ it's almost stupid, the thing is dead accurate and has ultra fast deviation reset - you can let out bursts much faster than other guns.

g3, i personally hate it with a passion (i think ive only ever killed one person with it) i get killed by it all the time on servers i play on. Its just not my style,

guns that i use are, pkm/mg36,  scarl, and thats it, other than that i use defaults

The L85A1 is just so damn unpredictable.  Sometimes it will hit what you shoot at and other times it will miss no matter what you do.  Its the worst unlock EVAR, and it sounds to be a pretty shitty weapon irl too with the thing having a melt down and falling apart with mild use.

Yeah! Someone who thinks like me! I can kick soooooo much butt with this gun! On Karkand I can sit on the left for the whole game sniping snipers, guy grenading/launching on the top of the hill!

Rule No 1: NEVER go too close with the L85A1.
Rule No 2: ALWAYS keep on single shot when not moving.
Rule No 3: TRY and aim about a milimetere infront of them and let rip!

Worst unlock: Scar-L I only got it as I never play sniper or assault (No teamwork points) and I have THE JACKHAMMER! I love this gun to bits, foolish SpecOps think they can destroy MY assets! MUHAHAHAHA BAAAAABOOOOOOM! KAPOWZA!
