My friend only has 1GB of RAM, while he plays games (Bf2,HL2,TF2) it just freezes randomly. Is this Vistas fault, and will installing XP over vista help/stop the problem?

His computer is not great, but its good enough to play these games on low..

P4 3.00 GHZ
Geforce Go 6150
RAM 1GB
Windows Vista

1GB of RAM with Vista is no good, 2GB minimum. And I dunno if that 6150 can support the Vista Aero Glass effect very well.

There are many reasons

1. Vista is a resource hog.
2. 1gb of ram on Vista won't mean good gaming experience.
3. It's a laptop.
4. The Graphics card is NOT good.
5. The Graphics card/as well as the other parts' temperatures might rise too high, that causes freezing.

Mkay, you should also clean the machine as well as possible. There might be a lot of dust inside.

If you open the machine for cleaning throw in another stick of ram.

noo, on a laptop you CAN change the RAM and harddrive. In some cases the wireless card too.

Change yes, not add.

And the 1gb of ram is not the bottleneck when on XP. It's the graphics card.
