I support the Israelis to the extent that they are fighting to survive,
I don't support the Palestinians because simply, they have land and all they do is destroy it themselves whilst trying to (I emphaise trying as well) to destroy Israel.
In every sense of the word, the Palestinians are basically bringing it on themselves and the blame just gets handed to Israel when they retaliate.
Also I think this picture nicely sums up the Israeli side

How do I ignore history? I did not mean to say I am a history major to brag, but to simply comment on my love for history. If I made a mistake, surely, point it out, but I am sharp with my history and do not believe I made a mistake.bogo24dk wrote:
I am sorry but you consider yourself a history major. But in your comments you actually ignore the history. My question to you is : Have you hear about the Canaanities ?Drakef wrote:
As much as I argue about the history of the conflict (I am a history major, and I love it), I do realize that the past is largely irrelevant. While I can understand why the Palestinians continue their violence, I do not condone it nor find it justifiable by historical reason. Regardless of what occurred sixty years ago, it is now the home to millions of Israelis, who have been born and bred into their country as any of us have. Both Israelis and Palestinians rightfully can acknowledge it as home, and that is the problem. We cannot separate the two, and yet there seems to exist the need to do so.FallenMorgan wrote:
Still, I hope that oneday they can see Judea as THEIR land, and work together towards bettering both the Muslims and Jewish people.
I have heard about the Canaanites, the native inhabitants of Canaan, which is now known as Palestine, or more so in our era, Israel. Admittedly, my grasp of history before 800 CE is not as complete as after that date, but we'll see what point you make. What is your point?
Exactly. Goes to show how persuasive the media is...CameronPoe wrote:

Israel is like the guy who leaves his seat in the crowded pub, goes out of the room for ages to have a smoke, maybe chat to some people while he's out there, takes his sweet time about things and then eventually returns to find his seat has been taken by someone else then causes a big fucking fight because someone else dared to take 'his' seat.
Fuck Israel.
Fuck Israel.
If the guy on that seat started lobbing high explosive peanuts at me I'd start a fight as well.Braddock wrote:

In terms of the analogy it would be like the returning man having pushed the man who was in the seat onto the floor, pressed his boot against his neck and got his buddies to sit on parts of the floor all around him, including on top of him, and with his last ounce of strength and only free hand the guy on the floor lobs peanuts at the ignorant cunt in the chair.M.O.A.B wrote:

Maybe he's lobbing high explosives at you because you shoved him off the fucking seat and started a fight over it?M.O.A.B wrote:

Actually, it's more like the guy tries to come back into the bar, but sees his seat has been taken and the guy in the seat now has a bunch of inept bullies telling the first guy he has no right to even come back into the bar, then attack the first guy in the name of the idiot in the seat who they couldn't give two shits about.CameronPoe wrote:

Then all the inept bullies get their asses kicked by the first guy and the observers tell the first guy he had no right to defend himself, should apologize to the people he just beat up, let the other guy keep his chair, and then just get the fuck out of the bar.

No, I think you'll find the trouble arises when the original guy attempts to get the seat back by force.FEOS wrote:

The fact remains that the guy no longer had any real meaningful claim on the seat. He was busy going to the toilet, sitting down in the the pub next door, walking around the locality while he had vacated the seat and then, without having any attention of returning to the pub, gets mugged by a ruffian and beaten to a pulp before crawling back into the original pub demanding 'his' chair back.FEOS wrote:

Actually, like I said before the Arabs took that land by force in the 7th century, from the Byzantines. The Byzantines (Romans, whatever) took that area by force from the Jews, before that.
The Jews are simply continuing what's been going on forever (tradition!) by taking that land by force and other dastardly deeds.
So much for "Holy Land" eh?

The Arabs would lose the drinking game as they're not allowed to, and as far as an arm wrestle, yeah they'd lose as well.Braddock wrote:

What's that got to do with anything. Fact of the matter is the Arabs acquired that land by force in 7th century, just like the Jews did in the 20th century. Just like the Romans during the er....1st Century (damn Jesus calender)konfusion wrote:
