So whenever I open Outlook Express, AIM (aol instant messenger) always launches along with it. Is there a way of stopping it from doing that? It's kinda annoying sometimes..
uninstall AIM
I'd have to say that is your only real solution to this problem.CommieChipmunk wrote:

There is a way to do it without uninstalling AIM - I just can't recall what it is right now...
There's a checkbox somewhere that needs unchecking, iirc...
Edit: Try Tools->Options->General in Outlook.
Also you may need to tell AIM not to run on startup.

there is the check box that says 'Automatically log into AOL' but that isn't checked. I guess i can just uninstall it since i rarely use it. i did want to keep it just in case if i need to talk to someone on it... oh well.Scorpion0x17 wrote:

edit: i figured it out, i just needed to go into AIMs options and make it so it wasn't set to the default instant messenger program.

Glad to see you got it fixed. Funny thing is, all of my friends used to use AIM all of the time. Now its Myspace and Facebook.
All of em are /fail imo though...
