If a decent camera is important, and you don't want to empty your wallet, then look into the sony ericsson cameras. I just got a k800i a few days ago for $200(US) after doing extensive research on the high end camera phones currently on the market. I found that the ericsson phones equipped with cybershot cmaera take pics that are superior to that of other more expensive phones on the market.

How about Sony Ericsson K800i? It's pretty cheap now, awsome camera 3.2MP, and all the other fancy stuff.

The K800i's got a poor lens cover that slides off in one's pocket. It also extends out a bit so that the phone can't lie on any flat surface properly. On top of that it's chunky like a brick. He'd be better off with the K810i where they sorted out the problematic lens cover.

If you have an extra $100 to spend, then yes, I would recommend the k810i over the k800i, though the issues stated are rather minor.
