you have to patch ..download it from ea again and run it again
nah i didnt re install it. can i just re install the patch or do i have to download it aswell?
well i re-instaled the patch. Now when i go to join a server it just comes up with a blank screen, then after 5 mins my attempt to connect times out and then it logs back on the BF2 login screen.
Any help please?

na it shouldnt be that hard. personally i would start from sctrach. make sure u have ur passwords. then un-install it all then reinstall. when u reinstall put bf2 then the expansion then the 1.12 patch.
ok I was just thinking the samething. Is it nessecery to download the patch 1.12 again. I dont think it shold be?

i would download a fresh copy just to be sure the crc is correct.
EDIT make sure u have no viruses before dl the patch or reinstalling. that should caue major problems.

u may wanna check ur firewall wooly, stuff like that happens to me on irc when my firewall is on sometimes.
aye, Its no biggy really, It doesnt bother me.
I usually just disable anti-virus before joining and leave FW on.
With idling in irc in lots of channels Id rather keep fw on tbh.

re installed everything and d/l a fresh patch. I still have the problem where I click to join a server and it crashes BF2, then goes to a black screen for 2 mins. Then comes up with "server refused your connection" or the like. This has never happened before until i installed the expansion. I get this error message and it reverts me back to the login page

yeah i just tunred it off. Ok, if i try to connect after i get this black out is is ok. The problem is it STILL does not recognize that i have the expansion or whatever is giving me the error i have post in the opening post.
What the hell else can i do?

I started to install SF today at 6pm GMT, been wasting my ime on here since. Its now 2245 GMT and have gotten nowhere. its pissing me off coz it SHOULDNT be this hard to play a god dam game. The problem aint with my spec or anything. Its with the patching that ive tried re-doin 2 times now

yeah BF2 > BF2:SF > Patch 1.12

go to community and then choose the section option(I dont remember what it is) there u should see bf2 1.12 and bf2:sf 1.12. choose the sf one and it will restart the game. if u dont see that option then it didnt patch correctly.
