not really, if you have the choice between 2 a-holes, are you still gonna vote? It happened to me already lmao.
Yeap, 2 party system stinks of shit.
Although here, people vote along religious lines which is as bad if not worse.

(live in the USA) I have only missed my chance to vote once since I was 18.  I only missed that one because I had NO IDEA a local election was even taking place until it was over.

There are some places in the world when people are actually dying to vote.  It is sad in the US when we can only get 50% out to vote on some elections.

I will not vote Dem or Rep this year for any position and I may just put up both party signs on my lawn this year so when you drive past one way is says to vote for the Dem candidate and when you drive past the other way it says to vote for the Rep candidate.

When I turn 18 this October, I'll hopefully register in time to vote for the general election. Otherwise, I won't have an excuse to complain about the politicians in power.

And it's our civic duty

I vote local, state, and national. I think if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about a politician or their policies.

Thank you. I say that to a lot of my friends who don't vote and they just shrug me off. If they're not willing to at least attempt making an impact on who gets in office or what new laws go are considered, then they must stfu. In fact, any time one of them wants to talk about politics I say to them, "Nope, don't wanna talk about it. Obviously your opinion doesn't matter if you're not going to vote and enforce that opinion."

It's all our civic duty to vote, but it's more complicated than just voting for patriotic compulsion.  For example, it's equally condemnable to vote for the wrong reasons (ie., lesser of evils, one to spite another, prevent opposite from taking office, etc) than it is to not vote at all.

If there isn't a candidate that fits your minimum interest, then no, you shouldn't vote.  If you haven't done an "honest" study of candidates or ballot measures, then you should not vote for those items.  In other words,  your civic duty should be to study "honestly" the things you are being asked to vote on..that's much more important than the votes you cast, imho.

For example, if it was Hillary vs. McCain for president, I could not give my vote to either...it would be irresponsible as far as I'm concerned...as irresponsible as NOT studying them both equally and comparing.

Regarding the OP question, I am a voter.

I missed the 04 election.  I was in Baghdad and I sure as fuck wasnt voting for the president, but even less so for Kerry.  The elections were barely mentioned while we were there.  we had bigger fish to fry.   I still dont know what the deal is with that swift boat veterans group.  I heard they had a lot of air time during 2004.

on my school campus, tons of people walk around with a clip board in their hands trying to get you to sign a petition.  the only way to sign a petition is to register to vote.  thats how I registered the 2nd time.  the first time, I was in basic training so they handed out voter registration to everyone.

Hrmmm, maybe they'll pass something around at my high school.

Anyways, obviously I'm planning on it. Local when I care, state, and national.

You can register to vote when you get/renew your driver's license.

They wouldn't kick out someone actually born in the UK. That was just a figure of speech. I think you're getting confused between the Conservative Party and the BNP too, they really aren't "extreme" in any way. Hell they have, like Labour, so many "ethnic minority" MP's too

Besides It's not like I'm gonna vote for the Lib Dems. We're a two party country and I don't want Labour back in power, fuck no.
