Sure, Gamoc's blog on Thursday was written mostly from the heart, but this morning IGN's exclusive GTA IV review was posted, and confirms much of what we said two days ago.

The perfect scoring game, with 10s across the board, clearly states that 'for those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in.' Strike One.

'There are framerate hitches here and there and (particularly on 360) there is some texture pop-in, but it actually runs better than I expected' the review goes on. Strike Two.

'The PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. ' Strike Three. You're Out, Xbox.

In case you missed all that: 'The slight visual edge goes to PS3.' So there you have it - if you want the most important game this generation, why the hell would you buy it on Xbox 360? Full IGN Review.

Thanks for another pointless and already stated 360 v PS3 comparison.

GTAIV will be awesome on both consoles, we do not need your powers of searching to come up with quotes which have already been read. This just stirs up more flame war.

Anyway, your graphics part is wrong - for those who want slightly better AA, then PS3, but the 360 has noticeably more vivid colours. So it's a 50/50 take on that.

I knew it wasn't going to come for anyone today, Rockstar has made sure official deliveries come on the 29th.

Kind of...I mean, when you pre-order so you can be guarenteed a game you have been waiting months for, and it turns out that now that you already spent your money and cant get a refund you could have gotten it soon just walking into a store on release day.

I'm getting mine (PS3 + GTA 4 bundle) today, midnight @ Game. Couldn't be arsed with buying online because none of them could guarantee delivery on Tuesday. Amazon sucks cos they didn't even bother to stock it, HMV & Game suck too cos both of them couldn't guarantee a Tuesday delivery...but the WORST of them has to be Play.com because they said they needed to do a security check that would take 24-48hrs to sort out, meaning that they'd probably dispatch on Tueday. When I wos told that I said "Fuck it!" (even if they did offer the cheapest bundle)

WTF is it with Play.com??? Amazon has never done any security check with me...so why the fuck does Play have to?

At the end of the day (quite literally) I'll be picking up my new PS3 and copy of GTA 4 at the 3rd nearest Game store cos the Stratford one is sold out for the midnight launch while the one in Canary Wharf opens at 7am - can't be arsed to wait till 7 in the morning cos I need to charge my imported DualShock 3.

It's gonna be a bloody late night. Hope I don't get bloody mugged on the way back...
