Hey there. I just reinstalled BF2 and I am having trouble with the anti-aliasing staying on. I apply the settings then restart the game and they are turned off. Any help?
Sometimes it says it's off, but it's on. Try loading a map and check. Otherways, force it through the nVidia/ATi control panel.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I tried it through nVidia control panel a while ago...made the Gfx worse. I had to turn AA on, quit BF2, start up BF2, go back to video settings and apply the AA again in order for it to work properly.
I tried through nvidia and applied the AA and quit the game and reapplied. It all looks worse than what I had it before and all I've done was upgrade my mobo and a reformat.
Its just a bug. Make sure when you set the AA, when the box pops up to restart the game, that the AA shows the correct amount. Its happened to my bro and I a few times.
yeah, just restart the game or if you're like me, i just restart my whole pc
Just reinstall. It doesn't take that long to do it, and it's not like you lose your stats or anything. It's better than wasting several days of trying other things and creating multiple threads here on the same topic.
in BF2142 it will not let me go above 4X AA,
when i try to set it to 8X it just automatically slides back to 4X
