Fucking EA. They were low in my book before, but they keep descending.

I absolutely hate that they publish so many games.

Great. Now GTA is gonna be a bugged-to-death shitgame too.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

It's a shame that the best series of games will now on be tarnished with that grotesque logo.

With that said, it's just a publisher. If EA do step in to Rockstar (Developers) it will just be to hurry them up on deadlines.

Activision Blizzard is still one damn big company. It just seems like EA is taking complete control because they make more of the games that gamers like us like.

Edit: grammar fail lewl

Not they're telling shareholders to reject the bid. It's up to the shareholders.

Here's a WILD idea. EA makes a lot of money at the expense of it's customers. Shareholders want to make money. Thus EA could still own Take Two.

This has been going on for a while now, they've rejected a couple and the top dogs at EA keep threatening hostile moves.

I wouldn't be suprised if EA are buying up all these companies so that they can have their own console. All these companies would be exclusive to the EAbox and world domination would follow! (Well...thats what I'd do anyway!!)

EA can't handle it's current line-up, or can't handle the implementation of patches to fix bugs in BF2?

EA didn't develop BF2, DICE did.

EA is a publisher. Not a game coder. They won't cause bugs to magically appear.

They will when they rush developers to release a half-tested game.

it has nothing to do with the fact they only publish games.  it's the way they do business that fails.

They're good at making money. That's what businesses tend to do... Make money.

A good publisher would make sure that its developers make quality games and fix issues as quickly as possible (read: not how long it took for DICE to fix fuckin BF2 1.3)

And Jord, surely a business that works like Valve (they're usually nice) or Harmonix (they've been really good with fixing people's Rock Band controllers) would make more money because they don't treat their customers like shit, right?

I'm not a business expert, but paying people to make patches and add updates has a 0% profit margin. Once you've paid for a game, they've got your money. As long as they keep a game semi-decent, people will pay for servers. Which is how EA work.

No profit margin, no. But if it keeps the people happy (and 1.3 was a far cry from even a quarter-decent), then those customers will want to do business with them again.

Indeed you are correct. This is the exact reason they are starting up with this payable content updates. Basically the only way companies are willing to update games is for more money.
