This is a stupid question, but do I need DVD-R's or DVD-RW's to play an MPEG4 movie in my DVD player?
I'm assuming a normal CD-R won't work.

CD's won't work. Only DVD's...lol
Newer dvd players will read mpg's from a cd. Google your model # and see what it will play.
HDD > all
I searched it up and it says it can play CD-R/RW, so I guess I'll try.
