title says it all, its for my cousins 21st n she wants a gd laptop, price may be able to strech a little karma to all people who help as its kinda urgent.

This one goes a bit over if you include VAT, but it's a really good combination of performance and price. It's got an 8400GS graphics card, which will offer enough performance for older games like CS:S and BF2. Looking at the specs, it seems to be about the best you can get for that money.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

laptops..you have to go with a dell to be honest. the aftercare support is great and i doubt she is going to be playing the latest games. the new inspirons are pretty cool and the good thing with dell is you can make them exactly as you wish, take a look

You could probably get better specifications if you buy from the US; and then use a courier company such as AccessUSA (use the voucher SO-STS30 for $30 off an annual subscription) to ship it over to your / her address. Alternatively, if you can't wait, I'd recommend something like the HP Pavilion DV6700 - which is right on par on your budget.
