Well, its faulty i hope not. But its not going to get any better right? But, can it get worse?

I have 1024 MB of RAM i think. (i didn't build it)

Anyhow, if i were to replace the RAM it would take weeks, even months, since i'm the only one in my house who knows anything about computers, and, my knowledge is limited, my Uncle knows everything about computers, and he does something to do with making new programmes or something. Anyway, he's enjoying being rich and touring the world, so it'll be a while before he comes back from New Zealand.

So, what do i do?

Well replacing RAM isn't too difficult.

Maybe if you had someone to direct you, if not in RL maybe trhough XFire?

Theres two nobs on the MOBO whihc you will notice when you remove the current ram, push those down and removie the RAM, then replace with new RAM. The push nobs down.

Whether or not it's faulty I have no idea.

I know how to replace RAM, but i'll have to tell my parents and then they'll get worried and quadrouple check, then talk to my Uncle, so its more difficult for me .

If you are changing the ram: The only thing is, you have to check whether you have DDR or DDR2 ram compatible motherboard. Open your start menu, click on run, type "dxdiag" and enter. Then press Alt+Printscreen, paste to paint, save, upload (www.imageshack.us) and link us to it. (that was comprehensively in case you don't know how to do it )

Replacing the ram is the easiest thing you can do inside your computer. Just press on two holders, take old ram out, put new ram there, make sure the holders are in position.

to test if it's faulty or not download memtest86+, burn to disk/copy to bootable USB-stick and run it for a few hours. If you have errors you'll have to RMA it

oh and make sure your bios settings are correct. Running ram above spec can cause errors

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Run a memtest86 (google it) and see if it's really faulty.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
