If McVeigh was even remotely deserving of being called a man, he would've pulled a Ryder truck up to the Capitol building and set it off.  I'm not saying I would do that or even approve of it, but it would certainly be the right thing to do for the message he wanted to send.

By choosing to blow up a building with a nursery in it, he only made the statement that he was a hateful asshole.

Predictable, but the way I see it, you add those two lists up, and you lay it at the feet of law enforcement and the president of the time in one lump sum.
Waco and Oklahoma City are part of the same event.

If you think that, you are no different than the federal agents gunning down the women and children at mount Carmel.

Ok...  let me level with you then.  I'm against the Iraq War.  I think we need to withdraw from Iraq as soon as possible.  I have not and will not ever support the killing of Iraqi civilians by our hands.  I have no problem with letting these people kill each other, but we should leave Iraq immediately partially because of the blood on our hands.

So, to stay consistent with this belief, I do not support acts that kill civilians done by wannabe revolutionaries either.

As GS said earlier, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Did not the U.S. Marines last year? Sometimes...shit happens.

Things happen for a reason. There was a reason the bombing happened. It didn't have to happen.
The government pushed too far. They lied about the deaths of too many people in the dawn of the youtube age and they couldn't hide it.

They put a satchel charge on the roof of a room they knew contained women and children. Justify that.

Autopsies of the dead revealed that some women and children found beneath a fallen concrete wall of a storage room died of skull injuries. Photographs taken after the fire show that the M728 CEV that penetrated the building while injecting CS gas did not come close enough to cause the collapse, which was more likely the result of the fire; photographs show signs of spalling on the concrete, which suggests that it was damaged by the intense heat.
Autopsy photographs of other children locked in what appear to be spasmic death poses have been attributed by some to cyanide poisoning produced by burning CS gas.[18]. The DOJ report indicated that only one body had traces of benzene, one of the components of CS gas, but that the gas insertions had finished nearly one hour before the fire ended, and that it was enough time for CS gas to disipate from the bodies of the Davidians that had inhaled the tear gas[32].

In a way, yes.  I know what you're hinting at.  I have little faith in our system, but that doesn't mean I'm going to start a militia.  There's enough violence in this world already.

So you have no problem with innocent children being killed, so long as it's not by us? Surely you could have worded that better.

Do you actually have any idea what your government did in Waco?
Do you care?

Are you incapable of seeing the string that ties to two events together?
Is it only okay to kill when your commander tells you to?

No, I'm serious.  I don't want us to be responsible for directly killing any children in Iraq, but if our departure leads to others doing it, I'm ok with that.

This may sound strange or even crazy, but think about it.  When you start to realize the fucked up nature of a country like Iraq, you understand that people are going to die one way or another.  Yet, in the grand scheme of things, it is better not to be directly responsible for such death.  If others do it in your absence, it ultimately is not your fault.  These people must make their own decisions -- the time has passed for us to be their protectors.

Think of it as free will.  We are only responsible for the fate of our own citizens, not the fate of the Iraqis.

Where do you keep getting this 100+ people dead at Waco number from?  I thought about 80 were killed there, and then you listed exactly 80 names.  Am I missing something?

Wow that's awfully selfish of you. You'd rather dodge blame than make an effort to protect Children because they are not of your nationality. You preach here daily about not identifying yourself by your nation of origin. Yet you sure as hell have no problem hiding behind those borders when it comes to doing the right thing as a citizen of humanity. That's disgraceful.

80, the day of the fire, a handful more on the day of the raid. 168 +- in Oklahoma.
Unlike most of you, I didn't run to wikipedia to form my opinion. It's been over five years since I have thought about Waco. I shot from the hip on the numbers.

No, it's practical.  The majority of us do it, but I'm one of the few with the balls to admit to it.  I have no delusions that the average person isn't selfish.  I also understand that, if the shoe was on the other foot, I really doubt the Iraqi people would go as far as we have in helping us.

This is a game of survival, and sometimes you have to make callous decisions to better your own country.  What happens to Iraq is their problem, not mine.  It only becomes our problem when we are directly involved.
