So, I want to get my 8800GTX some proper cooling so I can do some overclocking on it, and just generally keep it cooler.

I've narrowed my choices to the Zalman VF1000 with the RHS88 backblate and the Thermalright HR-03 Plus with an attached 92 or 120mm fan.

I'm looking for the best cooling, price is not an issue.

Which would you recommend? (And don't say DuOrb, as I've heard it's loud as hell)

HR-03. You can put your own custom vent on. A 120mm if you wish, with ease.

I own both (thermalright on my old x1900XT and the vf1000 on my 8800GT SLI). The HR-03 is way more effective and depending on the fan more quiet than the VF-1000. IT does take up a lot of space so you might have problems with PCI cards or SLI
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Thats what Thermalright says but a 120 fits as well.

Anyone know where I can get the HR-03 in the states? Only frozencpu.com has it so far.

No, the cooler is called a HR-03 Plus, you noob.

The HR-03 GT is just for the 8800GT, the Plus is for the GTS, GTX and Ultra.

And yeah, I guess I'll go for the HR-03 Plus, I've calculated that with a 120mm fan on it there should be just enough room for my sound card under it.
