BF2S Forums So what's the definition of "a level head" again?

Apparently some of you didn't see my point. Spam is spam in the BF2 section. Spam is not spam in D&ST. Insults are insults in the BF2 section. Insults are not insults in this section. Get it? I may not post as much as I read here, but this is just my observation. Personally I try to take what a lot of people say with a grain of salt around here, but should we take the rules with a grain of salt too? Not suggesting we should be strict nazis.

I guess there's a slightly laxer policy here being... Well supposed to be a mature section, in which pretty much everyone can accept insults and carry on. I don't go in the bf2 section anyway.

I also don't need a link to the rules, I think I've been here long enough to know them like the top of my Dick.

You cant debate when you have infinite access to the web, that proves nothing.  Verbal debate, which is a real debate, makes you actually study about a subject.

I see debating as something in which you can test your knowledge and conversational skills. You're not supposed to have a whole library next to you when debating about stuff.

I see debating as something in which you can test your knowledge and conversational skills. You're not supposed to have a whole library next to you when debating about stuff.

It's not something you can really control on the internet. I rarely copy and paste sources unless I make a thread, I go off personal feelings and experiances as well as common sense.

Is there anything wrong with insults on an internet forum? Surely insults do not contribute to serious talk but I dont feel there is a necessity to enforce a rule that bans them.

This. Emphasis mine.

The basic idea is that people that are in DAST tend to be more mature than say in the BF2 section, so as long as there is a decent reason for it calling someone a name or getting a little personal isn't as big of a deal, because we hope everyone should know this is just the internet here. I personally don't moderate this section like the others, for example a lot of spammy bullshit that gets a pass on the other forums I will delete/warn for here, just to keep the environment a little more serious. Seeing lolcats every other page isn't what most people want to see here, and we have other forums where you can get away with shit like that.

Conversely a lot of what would be considered flaming and personal attacks in other forums isn't as big of a deal here. I look at it as the people in the BF2 section just want an answer, or opinions, but if someone comes in here they should expect controversy. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen kind of thing.

Is that a free pass abuse the crap out of everyone because this is the "mature" section and everyone can handle it? No, we still want to maintain a decent environment, but we're also not going to baby any users here.
