It's amusing how in China, the only high profile arrests, and busted "crime rings" are within territories opposing the central Chinese government. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they're using the security of the Olympics to throw people in jail for nothing, and looking good while doing it.

When I was in Beijing last October the place was like a police state in preparation for the Olympics. Military detachments goosestepping around Tiananmen Square with local Chinese having their bags searched in the street (they didn't bother the tourists). I got the distinct impression that you don't wanna fuck with the Chinese.
