Appeasing the enemy to death? Moqtada Al Sadr is no enemy of mine. I didn't invade his country and he has never threatened me. He only threatens those that occupy his country. It's quite a simple relationship when you look at it logically...

He has a right to be pissed about the occupation and speaks for a large number of Iraqis. Quite frankly what he does afterwards is his business - the primary wrong that has to be redressed is the occupation of his country and the interference of western powers in his nations politics, which is happening presently.

Now he might be sufficiently pissed to continue his fight after the withdrawal, maybe he would just consolidate his power base in the Western Province of Iran and leave the US alone.

Yet according to you, there's nothing that can be done about it.  No diplomacy.

What's more dangerous - a guy who actively plots versus a guy in a plot?

Either way, more problems.  That's why its got to be through diplomacy.  I have no idea how that's going to happen.
