Deadly blast strikes Iranian city

At least eight people have been killed and more than 60 wounded in an explosion in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz, Iranian media reports say. The blast reportedly occurred during an address by a cleric in the Hoseyniyeh Shohada religious centre in the city. The city's Law Enforcement Force commander, Col Zamani, told the semi-official Fars news agency that the explosion had been caused by a bomb.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.

Well it would seem 'terrorist sympathising Iran' are every bit as susceptible to terror attacks as the old U.S. of A.

Why would the powers that be in Iran lend help and support to an organisation that would blow up innocent Iranian citizens?...it doesn't add up. I'd say this is some form of Islamic in-fighting, a Sunni-Shia thing maybe, I don't know.

I don't buy it to be honest, it would be the Al Qaeda equivalent of the Omagh bombing. The Omagh bombing was the final nail in the coffin of Republican paramilitary activity.
