Its bloody awesome doesnt really hurt that much, i only really felt one shot which hit me right in the temple from about 10 meters.

Paintball is really fun, even though I play airsoft more. Bout a year ago I played, and I was going to bunker (kill them by saying surrender from really close) these two kids hiding behind a wood barrier. It turns out there was a root on my pathway there, so I tripped on that and got shot three times in the side of the neck while lying on the ground... I still have marks from that.
So yes, it does hurt, a lot. The three most painful shots in order are: Balls, Neck, Knuckles. If you cover all of those up (the neck would be hard) you should be good to go.
