I don't know actually, its in the rules somewhere. Just don't pad it, and give it to someone if you liked their post/thread. You have 10 points for 24 hours, 1 point per person. Some people return karma, doesn't hurt to sign your name either. Just don't ask, it is a ban, probably.doug1988 wrote:

Remember, 4chan Is welcome in the D&ST section!

Eeeeevening. I am the leader of the Tech section, self-proclaimed. We're waiting eagerly for your computer to break down.
Also, Karma is a status symbol, the more Karma you got in relation to the number of days you've got registered is basically your status measure. You're now "infinitly" cool.
Just wait a couple of days, and your KPD (Karma per day) will be below mine, like most others...!
Also, EVERYONE KARMA HIM!!! FIRST-DAY KARMA MUST BE LARGE!!!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Welcome to the forums, Doug.
Essentially, karma is a public measure of how positively you contribute to the forums. Usually, the higher amount of karma someone has, the more well known and well liked the person is. However, this doesn't always hold true.
Just...read over the rules, don't act too immature, and I'm sure you'll fit in just fine.
