Ok i know its an old game... but i bought it a couple weeks ago (it was like a couple dollars so i thought wat the hell)... anyways.

playing online i notice people of similar rank (im a lieutenant) using weapons that "require generals promotion"... does this mean that they have an account in which they have made it to general? and are playing on a new account?

or something different? im just wondering cuz im so sick of getting owned by nuke cannons and stealth fighters and snipers and stuff like that...

You know that bar with the star in the bottom right corner of your screen? As you gain experience from kills/building things it will fill and when it does a voice saying "Congratulations General, you have been promoted" will signify that. This can occur in pretty much all single or multiplayer games, as you would see if you played skirmish mode. When you are promoted from 1 star to 2 star to 3 star to 4 star to 5 star, you get points that you can use in your command screen (the tab with the 3 stars). The USA, China, and GLA all have different unlockable abilities. You get 1 point for each promotion from 2 to 4 star and at 5 star you get 3 points to use.

ok... and once you have unlocked it does it stay unlocked? or just for each match?

Resets each match, and is relatively easy to fill. Just like Savage.
