I believe the answer is five.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. Yeah, you're solving for the right kind of equation (linear, natural log, exp, or power) by finding which one has the highest correlation. Then you post the equation. And I will check it.

I'm kind of confused about what you're really asking, but if we take 1965 as year 1 and 1990 as year 25, then the resulting equation should look something like y + 314(1.38)^x if it grows exponentially. If it is linear growth then the equation is y - 314 = (2919 / 25)(x - 1965). The logarithmic equation would look like y = log base 6.26 of 1965 (I think) and the natural log I have no idea.

I think. I'm still unsure of what exactly the question is.

The answer I'm looking for is a correlation equation, such as (for a natural log correlation):

y=a+b(ln x)
y=15.67110699+20.18568279(ln x)
