What do you need to use wireless for a desktop? Does it cost a lot? Is it easy to install?

Don't use wireless for a desktop. It's inferior.
Desktop PC? You need a wireless card or usb wireless adapter and a wireless router. Both are relatively inexpensive. Here a wireless card and Here is a usb wireless adapter that is pretty cheap. I like Netgear when it comes to a wireless router or Access point. Hope that helps ya. You can always just search on places like Newegg.com or pricewatch.com for cheap wireless gear.
