So. Got my 32" Sharp Aquos LCD TV today...set it up, and everything works correctly...kinda.

I went to go play my 360, and my sound isn't working. Picture's coming out in clear 1080p, but I'm simply not getting any sound. Sound works with my HDMI cables, but it's not working with my HD AV cable.

Here's the HD AV Cable (yes, I'm using the RGB ones and I've set it to HDTV) -

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xb … nthdcable/

And here's my TV:

Any help?

I did. I tried both of the HDTV AV ports. Both get picture, neither get sound.

It's either the cable or the TV...might just be an option set wrong on the TV.

I'll try my brother's cable (he has a 360 too) in the morning and see what happens.

Is the 360 set to output through the AV cable? Is the TV set to output from the AV cable?

All I can think of. Obviously not owning either of these two items I don't know much.

All I can think of is take a good look at the connections, and make sure the Audio Cables are connected to the same "Batch" (aka, Input 1, Input 2, etc) as the Video cables. Some TVs have a awkward way of grouping them.

My HDTV only has audio outputs not inputs. So when i watch TV i can route the sound via amp to speakers. But if i would to hook for instance my PSP to tv, i wouldn't be able to hear sound through TV speakers.

Check the settings in the 360. I know that when I initially set up my PS3, I had to choose what output my video came out of, as well as what my audio came out of. I can theoretically output my video through HDMI, and run sound through optical if I wanted. (I run everything through HDMI to my receiver because it's convenient). Anyway, double check the settings inside the 360 to make sure it's all outputting into HDMI, vs. audio to one place and video to another.

I'm stupid. I didn't realize the R-G-B has no sound, but only video. I needed the Yellow/White cables to get sound.

Thanks for all the attempted help (even though Sharp Support is what actually helped me ).

btw, doesn't your TV have small lables that tell you what everything is?

On my TV, it says "Audio L, R", etc.

Yeah, but it's against a wall, so it's very hard to see.

I should've looked closer, I guess.

That is odd.  Normally, with the hdmi cable, you don't need any additional av cables or whatever....at least not with mine and the sound works great.  I have a 47" FHD Vizio.

You must be plugging something in wrong. I'm not sure. I know on my TV, the sound cable sometimes comes loose at random times, and I have to go and wiggle it back in.

edit: It could have something to do with which input your on. You have it on HDMI or video input, so you can see your xbox, but maybe the sound is on a different input. On my 46" LCD downstairs, it has 2 component sections (so 6 plug-in's all together), and then one HDMI< and I think 2 composite sections.

I don't think I'm making any sense right now.

The 360 Pro doesn't come with HDMI?  And yes, I have the Elite.

The new batch of 360 premiums have it, the old ones don't. I have an old one. Mine is from December '06. This is a new one:

It's bullshit too, Xbox doesn't even supply owners of the old consoles with an HDMI port converter to buy, let alone get. Oh well, my TV only has two HDMI ports anyways which are being used by my PS3 and Cable box.

I FINALLY finished the CoD4 singleplayer. Gaz and Price I knew what happened, but my TV was too small to see...well, anything even moderately well. Gaz and Price
