Trying to share the printer connected to this PC with the other PCs on the network.

The other PCs find the printer, and I get no error when I press File -> Print and choose the correct printer from the list.

The little "printing" icon in word appears (bottom right), but nothing comes out of the printer.

halp?

So, you have allready added the printer in the Printers and Faxes page?

And do you get an error after a while when it hasn't printed?

Are you positive you have the right drivers installed?  That happens if you don't have the correct printer associated with the correct driver.  Stupid question I know but sometimes the most difficult issue is something simple as a fix.

I thought you only needed drivers on the "host" PC?

I don't think that's right, I just installed a printer on 4 different machines and it asked me for the drivers on each machine.

No, technically, you have to have each driver on each machine so they machine will know what type of printer it is sending data to.

Edit:  On second thought after thinking about it, did you actually share the printer in your network?
