Yep - GCSEs pretty close now. I have my French and Spanish orals really quite soon (2nd May {Spanish} and 6th May {French}). After that, I have my actual writing / listening exams starting on the 13th May. With, the one subject I am pretty nervous about failing - Additional Mathematics. Although I do have a positive mental attitude towards them, Ad. Maths is the one I am concerned about.

Apart from that, normal Maths is what I am concerned about only, really. I failed it in the mock exam and it is absolutely essential that I pass it - for obvious reasons! My mock results went as follows:

English Language - A
English Literature - A
Mathematics - U (although I believe I got a C. Guys with lower scores overall did?)
Additional Mathematics - U
French - B
Spanish - C
History - B
Geography - B
Physics - C
Biology - C

I need 10 points to get back in, and a pass in English and Maths (C or above). A=3, B=2, C=1, D/U=0. So with that I got 15 points, but failed maths so wouldn't of got back in. Just been doing lots of maths past papers.

Anyone else in the same boat that I'm in? My last exam finishes at 11AM on 20th June. I'm doing over 20 exams in total. Can't wait to finish

GCSE's are ridiculous. Don't need to revise for them, and they give out A*'s and A's as if they're 'Good Boy!' stickers.

If you stress over GCSE's then God help you at A-Level .

I'm actually not too fussed about my A levels, really. I am pretty confident in the subjects I will be studying

I was too. But then I started them and realised that actaully they're pretty damn hard.

GCSEs are nothing, really, absolutely nothing like A-levels. I didn't revise for my GCSEs and I got mostly all As. I didn't do much work in the first few months: I got Es and Us.

I don't need any GCSE's - I'm already in my Army college.
But GCSE's help.

Mock results were B's and C's and a couple A's.

But they were all for proper reasons...

I'm aiming for All A's or B's (few A*s)

Maths if I get C I'll be happy. I am actually a real-life struggler with that subject. And just because you can do it and you think I'm another who just doesn't try, that's bs. I try, I just find it hard to grasp.

I think I'll end with:

4 A*s: Science Citizenship Drama RS
4 A's: PE ScienceAdditional Tech IT
Rest B's.

I'm only really worried about Additional Science. I already I have a GCSE in Science, but we have been entered for a harder stuff as well. For Maths I'm already at a B, and with one exam to go, I need 11 UMS marks to get an overall A. English will be easy, because I'm good at that. I have loads of Philosophy to revise, as well as my French stuff too...Also, is it true that for a 2 hour exam, RS is only half a GCSE? Because in my opinion thats pretty fucking pointless....

I've got my standard grades this May, bricking shits as I got a 3 in my Prelim for Maths, and I need higher Maths for my career, a P.E teacher. So I really need to swot Maths, like lots.

GL with your exams and stuff. Hope you get your passes.

'U' stands for Unclassified. 'F' is still a grade. GCSEs go from A*, A, B, C, .... F, G.

Well, yeah I guess. Since Anything below a C is classed as a fail at GCSE.

Not in standard grade.

1 high credit pass
2 low credit pass
3 high general pass
4 low general pass
5 high foundation pass
6 low foundation pass
7 fail (To get this you pretty much have to not sit the exam.)

Good luck but at gcse's you don't truly appreciate how hard a levels really are..

Also people who are thinking of going Uni, do not think I will get in on just my A levels. The first thing they look at is your GCSE's and if they are shit, you can say bye bye to getting admission. Just thought I would let you know this.

And GCSE's are easy, the step up from GCSE to AS level is phenomenal and is the same for AS to A2.
