Thats been happening to a lot of people I know. It took a couple of them 4 re-installations before it finally worked.

I always crash when changing kits. Usually when picking up a support to resupply myself-those nub supporters don't do any good.

I have a theory. If you take a kit off a person who has disconnected, you will most likely CTD.

yup, and only pick up kits from people who have already picked them up.

if it gets picked up once without a ctd, you wont ctd.

Yeah, I get that, but after someone shoots at me. He'd pop up, I hear the bullet, and pop comes the error. It's a rare occurrence thankfully.

Don't even know what this imaginary drive D is.

That is correct. I tested it myself,took a support kit after my friend disconnected and second later the game crash.
It wont happen if the person who disconnected spawned with support kit,but if he picked it up from someone else then it will

I used to get that, always with support kit and always with an M249 & RPK. All other support guns NEVER CTD'd on me.

I cleared all the cache of BF2, and that did it. For a while. Then it came back. Took a full reinstall to get rid of it.

That used to happen to me when I would try and pick up a kit on the ground. Didn't happen often but it always seemed to happen when I was in the mist of a very good round. Lame.
