Holy crap, 480 stream processors compared to 128 on my GTX
DO WANT!
DO WANT!
I just don't have the heart to replace my 8800GTX, it cost me over $900 (Yes, hardware prices are teh sux0r in Iceland)
I have the money to do it, but it's such a waste, I bought my 8800GTX less than a year ago and it works fine for all games maxed out in 1680x1050 with 4xAA (Crysis doesn't count ) with good framerate..Sup wrote:
Sell a kidney then.
wow. i will actually have to see reviews. this is very promising for that price point.

320 radeon SP equals to 64 nv ones. Radeons have a bit different architechture focusing in shader power vs nvidia focusing in textures.PBAsydney wrote:

i was just about to add that same thought. now that i think about it, the 9600GT bested the 3850 (was it?) even with its 96 stream procs.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

edit: im not sure about the details, basically a nvidia card with much less sps beat an AMD card.
hopefully though this will push down the 8 series card prices even further.

Since, I bought my 8800GT. About 10 new cards came out. Gotta love technology...
yes, you do. your card is still the best performer for the money.r'Eeee wrote:

In actual game performace, a 9600 card beat a 3870HD in this review.haffeysucks wrote:

highest overclocked and therefore more expensive 9600gt compared to stock HD3870 and I doubt they used teh 8.3 hotfix drivers.SenorToenails wrote:

Point is, more stream processors do not make for an automatically better card.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

radeons have less real SPs than geforces.SenorToenails wrote:

LOL @ Mai
I just heard that the single GPU HD 4870 would be about 20% faster than 9800GTX. The X2 should then give GT200 run for its money.

damn you, I don't want to upgrade yetGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

i thought that was common knowledge
i also heard the 4850 was going to be 10% faster than the 8800GT, and 10% slower than the 9800GTX.
