Lets say i had the chance to drive the enzo, so, shift in r, it will move back itself? Just like a car with an automatic gearbox.
Never driven one. Dunno if it would have a clutch or not. I guess it's considered semi-automatic, in that you don't need to use the clutch. Just press the paddle and it switches gear.
And yeah, you just probably keep flicking down until you're in reverse. And then hit the accelerator. Sequential is the best of both. I'm just guessing with my limited knowledge and from what I've seen, I've not actually driven a car with sequential. So if I'm totally wrong, don't flame me and call me a knob

I think shifting into R will turn on the radio.
There are 2 types of set ups.
1 uses an automatic gearbox but allows you to manually choose gears. The other uses a manual gearbox but with an automatic clutch.
As far as I can tell, you are unable to change into reverse while going forward (in both set ups). As you need to change down from say 3 to 2 to 1 to N then R, and as its all computer controlled, it will just not let you select R until you are stationary.

dopey bastards, no u have to let put the clutch in, the 3rd pedal dopey fuckers who cant drive dont have, select first or reverse with the clutch still in then let the clutch out slowly while increasing revs with wot dopey fuckers call the go button, when driving forewards when the revs get too high put the clutch in and select the next gear up or say 2nd to 4th if your a tight cunt who wants to save petrol. ohh when stopped put the clutch in or put it in neutral when leavin the car so you dont stall when you go 2 pull away when you start it up
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.
Oakleaves, a SEQUENTIAL MANUAL ... not a standard. Idiot.
Most cars you select if you want to shift in automatic mode (the car does all the work) or if you want to work the paddles (or knob in some cases; get your fucking minds out of the gutter!). IIRC, the Lamborghini is push button on Reverse and whatnot, and the rest is handled with the paddles when you're in manual mode.
There are some, like in the case of the Enzo, IIRC, that it is strictly manual. No clutch, but you have to work the paddles.
All the higher end systems (i.e. anything that's worth driving with this transmission, and most of them all are), the car also rev matches for you. You down shift, it pops the throttle for you to match the tranny and the engine to the same rotating speed.

not 100% sure on enzos
with alfa romeos its called a selespeed gearbox. look below for a picture
it has this

bmw has a very similar thing
ps. you need to have your foot on the brake to go into reverse, and you can do it while rolling very slowly

Ahh this is what i am talking about.. The ones in the arcades.. And the ones in formula one cars.
they also have a full automatic mode but on diesels it seems quite sluggish
---
Fiat Puntos also have this sequential gearbox but they dont have the paddles
I am yet to see one on a Ritmo or 500/Bambino
( thats all we have for Fiat for sale in aus)( at least at my dealership)

would never go fully auto. Sequential manual would be awesome
yeah, it's basically all computer controlled. Won't let you shift into R until significant deceleration or stationary.

steady now.. get out of bed on the wrong side today?0akleaves wrote:

That and I just fucking hate this guy.

Assuming sequential has no clutch:
When in 1st gear, just ease the revs up to say...3.5-4.5k and then slightly let go of accelerator whilst "sequenting" up (most are sequential up, manual down) into 2nd gear. Repeat. Then just brake when you need to, and it will gear down itself...although sometimes it isn't very responsive.
If it does have a clutch:
When increasing in fear, just put the clutch down, go into gear, ease on accelerator whilst letting go of clutch (a dual movement motion, sort of)
