If any of you remember from way back when BF2 came out the points obtained from kills and teamwork actually counted towards your score.
Artillery also counted as kills as well.  But it was changed to where the team's performance depicted the commander's overall score.  Any kills and teamwork points accumulated now are not counted towards your global score.

I say this because I just noticed there's a huge missing gap of points somewhere between what I have earned and my global score.
It's around somewhere like 30,000 points.  Should I be pissed that my points aren't being counted?

ahh no. just be happy with your commander points, getting more than what your team is supplying is being greedy.

just look at it this way, you're increasing your kdr every time you kill someone while commanding, so don't be pissed.

So essentially you could go commander, get points from your team, and just fight for even more points, neglecting your duties?

I can see why they changed it, there are enough sucky comms out there as it is...

Been playing since launch and I dont ever recall earning "teampoint" or getting points for kills from arty and such(yes they registered in kill count, but no +2 from them).  Only thing they really changed is you dont get the kills counted from arty, although they do still count towards whatever badge or what not your after.

Think of the command points as replacement points for the team/combat points that you otherwise would have earned if you were not commander. You can be commander and get a ton of kills, revives, and flag caps, and it will record in your numbers, but youll get the same points if you sat on the edge of the map. So, really its more incentive to sit on the edge of the map and help your team as much as possible so you can get moar points, ja?

And plus, if you ever get General, the points dont matter anymore

I've only been playing since 1.3, so I just took his word for it.

Also, if you're a decent player then you should get more points fighting (not commander) than you would commanding
