we were at my friends house, and for shits and grins we went to the bar with his gay neighbors.
my friend saw some of his other friends at the bar, so we all went back to his house.
one of his friends goes outside to smoke a cigarette, and like ten minutes later we hear gunshots, and then his other friend comes busting through the door all bloody and screaming.
sure as shit, right on his front porch this dude is laying there with five or six holes in his back.
i knew he was dead just from looking at him, and i was pretty shaken up myself. first thing i did was to make sure there wasnt anyone around, and then kept my friends away from him...they thought they could "save" him, but he didnt have a pulse, and no one there had the equipment to do anything effective. once the police arrived, i stood with my arms extended to my side, and told them i had a pistol on my right side. they disarmed me, and then started in with the questioning.

all in all, it was a pretty weird saturday night...im thankful my girl was out of town though.

anyway, just thought i would share that with you guys.

anyone else have any experiences like this?
this is my 2nd time seeing someone die/dead

So did they ever acuse you of being the shooter?
Where do you live again?

Cause maybe its common to carry a gun where you live (lucky) but in New York i could easily see me being taken away and probly charged with the murder -.-

Sorry to hear that parker. You are lucky in a way, if you had been outside on the porch it could have been you. But still, I can't imagine how hard it must have been to see something like that.

no, they didnt think i was the shooter ever. like i said, when the police arrived, i calmly held my arms out and told them i had a pistol on my right hand side.
i told them that i looked for threats and saw none by the time i got out there.
i dont know if its common for people to carry guns in st louis, but a lot of people do.

a guy in the booth next to me at the shooting range shot himself in the head with a Kel-Tec .380.
that was WAY worse than this for some reason....that really fucked me up. i didnt even lose sleep over this....its weird, i dont really know how to explain it.

oh, and the reason for the shooting was attempted robbery. apparently they (there were two of them) told him to hand over his wallet. he said it was inside and turned to go in...then they shot him in the back.
his wallet was in his pocket

they didnt catch the fucking cunts, and i doubt they ever will. shootings happen on a daily basis here, and unfortunately a lot of them go unsolved.

Fucking hellfire Mr P a lot more excitement in your weekend that mine.  Sounds like you acted the right way all the way through even down to being disarmed yourself.

I have experiences of people dying.  I was holding My Mum as she died and took her last breaths and saw a baby of a few days old die whilst in ITC with my daughter, I love my Mum to bits but the baby dying will always haunt me.  The baby was one of a twin which had survived.  The next morning the parents were trying to gain access onto the ward while myself and Mrs were leaving.  I could hear through the video security screen the babies Mum saying "It's Joshua's Mum" and this was confusing the nurses on the inside desk.  The Nurse was looking up at the wipe board with the incubators layed out with names and replying "We don't have a baby Joshua, what are you on about??".

"No" the mother replied "he died last night, I just wanted to say thank you for all you did".

We walk out the door she walks in and Im already crying and she's carrying chocolate for the staff as a thank you.  I had felt bad the previous day seeing the nurses trying to save the baby with a small breathing pump thing, I had left the unit as I knew something was up, returned 30 mins later to see the incubator empty and the sheets being changed ready for the next baby, I cried and cried feeling so guilty that my daughter was making a recovery from her illness.  The nurses came over to me and just told me it's life, your here for your girl.

Last year while shopping I saw an old man just collapse to the ground and die of a heart attack, all the shop staff were trying to save him but to no avail.  It was pissing down rain he was on the pavement, his shopping basket had fallen and all his goods were rolling into the road, I went into Tesco's, their staff ran out, I heard the sirens came out 5 mins later and knew they had failed in bringing him back due to his colour and the reactions of on lookers and staff.  The had the de-fibs on him and his body was jerking up and down with every shot they were trying, or so it seemed.

In all except my Mums case I saw a failed ressucc attempt (sp).  With my Mum she instanly looked at peace, she had been i'll for 6 months and the sun came out straight away on what a been a real shitty day.

No No sorry

1. I saw a baby die, this was during the time I spent in ICU with my girl.  The baby was part of twins, nothing to do with my family.

2. My Mum died 5 years later.

When I was 17, a friend and I were at a party where some kid was passed on a picnic table. We had heard he was 15 and doing shot after shot after shot and had drank some obscene amount. People were prodding him and laughing at him. We checked his breathing and it was faint. My friend and I drove to him to the hospital through a maddening thunderstorm. We left and him with an attending and bolted. Apparently he had died in route.

Nothing really triggered me until I read this. I mean, shit. That's just....fucking depressing, to think somebody innocent is dead in such a way like that. You know what, the only type of person that would do this would be some addict who's totally off his wire. Someone who would be better off dead than rehabilitated. I think, it's a shame nobody with a gun, perhaps even you Parker, was around to possibly change the situation. But maybe, it's better you weren't there.

i have already started in with the, "i should have gone to smoke with him" bullshit, but nothing can be done.
what happened, happened. he chose not to give up his wallet, and that is what happened....hell, even if he DID give them his wallet, there was a chance they would have dusted his dick. like you said, dope fiends.
but i think its more than that....its this mentality that the world owes you something. for some reason these people think they dont have to earn a living like the rest of the world. they can mooch off the government, and then rob marks when they want.
coulda/shoulda/woulda.......at the end of the day, it doesnt mean a motherfucking thing.

it wasnt as bad this time, but when i was leaning over checking him out, i got the foulest whiff of burnt copper smell.
