got any popo lolo intersting?
+1,160|6734|cuntshitlake

I have a Palit 8600GT, and I would like to attach a Vf-700 to it, but I have a slight problem. I can't get the stock cooler off. I opened the clips and got the backplate off, but the heatsink refuses to fall off. I have tried with some force, but it sticks. Twisting is not an option since it is through the PCB with 4 pins.

Any help appreciated. I do not want to break this...

The card is one of these

(not my card, but the same model)

do you have a hair drier around? If you do, heat the heatsink a bit with it and the cooler should fall off with a bit force.

or something similar blowing hot air on the heatsink...

Should just be one of those annoying little sticky thermal pads holding it on, it'd come off with force but as Panzer says heating it up softens it a bit and makes life easier.

PCB, assembly and heatsink/fan. Performance doesn't vary between different versions.

The box said 16C cooler, does that only apply only for the ASUS one, or over the board?

Why not? If it's all he's got, why not try to squeeze out as much as possible?
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Technically, he didn't pay anything for that cooler.

Technically.

Cooler would go for 15€, 8600GT for ~45€

And I do not really need anything better at the moment. The thing that is overlooked so many times on this section.

Besides this little buddy for example maxes out CoD4 with 4xAA. Believe it or not. I didn't expect such a performance from it, but it sure is a good card now after the drivers have boosted it's performance by a lot. And of course my OC'ing.

That is BS tbh, my 8600GTS maxes it out without AA (but I do like a constant 80 FPS)

DDR3, but 256MB.  Not an  extremely high resolution - 1680x1050.

But ya know, I dol have this extremely shitty DDR PC3200 RAM...*sigh*

I really can't wait until the 24th.

That explains it, 1680x1050 on 256MB... Lol.
