P5E can be flashed to maximus formula and rampage formula. tech hax
Saving 2-3+ times the money while sticking with amd while the performance is only 2 times (with top of the line) of that means I am getting more for my money.ghettoperson wrote:
Looks like you're going to be stuck with sub-par processors for a good while yet then.The#1Spot wrote:
I like all the features and how everything is placed on the mobo, but if its not from amd I will not buy it.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Fair enough. I've just heard of quite a few people bricking mobos by trying other BIOS's on them. But if it works... Might want to make sure you get the BIOS version other people have tried and then don't update it. I'm quite sure ASUS will not be happy with this discovery, and will mod their next BIOS versions so that it'll brick it.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

I have a Striker II Formula and the LCD screen, it shows in words what your PC is doing instead of a 2-digit code. + I'm not gonna buy the X48 nor the P45. I'm gonna wait for Nehalem and X58 to be affordable before upgrading.
You say some motherboards have a LED Display integrated on the motherboard, you are referring to the ROG Display, not the 2digit-error display.Sup wrote:

Erm the 50s arent really supposed to be that remarkable, the 70s with that GDDR5 is supposed to be great though, there would only be about a $50 difference between em anyway, not insane.haffeysucks wrote:
whew, after all this talk, i think i'm going to go with that ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA mobo and wait for the 4850s to come out. what are the specs on the 4850s atm? any previews?
and is there anything bad about the RAMPAGE, or something special i should know?
