yup.

if you're within 5 ft of your enemy in bf2, it comes down to two things. if either player has a nade launcher, the issue is quickly decided. if neither does, then it's an all out spray fest. this can take several forms, as in spraying while hopping, strafing and spraying, or even proning, sighting, and spraying. and don't kid yourself, just because you're in ironsights doesn't make it any less of a spray when you empty your magazine in one pull.

the only exceptions are the snipers and the pump shotguns. i've been dropped from five feet by a sniper with one shot. now that's an impressive kill. pump shotties can't spray by definition, but everyone has the DAO and jackhammer by now, it's rare to see someone using the pump shotties. and the DAO is the very embodiment of spraying.

what's funny to me, is how so many people think that it takes so much more 'skill' to spray than to use a GL at close quarters. bullshit, they're both easy as hell. if anything, spraying is easier, since you don't have to worry about killing yourself. with the changes to the nade launcher in the next patch, CQB will deteriorate even further into a contest of 'who can shoot more bullets first.'

but we don't play BF2 for its shitty infantry game, now do we? we play it to whore tanks and airplanes and spawn rape the other team.

what do you think happens in real life dumbass - you spray to kill, not wait for your opponent to kindly place his head in front of your barrel
i've never had a problem with the CQC - in fact i find it takes more skill and is more realistic then even CS (taking into account that all hand held weapons in gthe game do about half their real life damage)

real life has nothing to do with anything. i don't want real life, i want a fun videogame that rewards skill and aiming.

American philosophy?   I was a Jarhead Grunt and  we were never taught to spray and pray.  Even machinegunners (0331) used "talking guns" not spray and pray.......so elaborate please.

Well, in the only type of CQB I'm involved in in RL, the object is to 'spray'

What is this spray shit?  I know the US military is taught "two to the chest and one to the head" in CQB.

well when I did cqb it was "you spray, you kill civilians." which is very counter productive, especially when youre in a PSO.
then again, there's the 'good ol days', when you'd pull the trigger on your grease gun, throw it into the room [the guns were notorious for being runaways, so you'd press the trigger and toss it into the room, bouncing around shooting everyone ]

for pistols, absolutely
for long arms its more like 3-5 round burst into their chest.

It is true that BF2 is more forgiving of sprayers than other games like CSS.  However, I would say that if you have the skill to get a headshot in BF2, you will beat someone who sprays; they generally just aim for the chest.

Don't get me wrong, I know what really happens in real life CQB, I was just saying we were not "taught" to spray and pray.

you know, i think a runaway greasegun is perfectly fitting for BF2's infantry game.

everyone will get awesome at tossing self-shooting SMGs around corners in karkand in one week.

by week two everyone will bitch about how it's an exploit and the runaway SMGs are 'supposed' to be used only when the enemy soldier signs a waiver that says 'i agree to be killed by you in BF2.'

then EA will patch it.

we arent taught to spray and pray either... hense the 3 rnd burst into their CoM.
I use pistols most of the time anyways easier for situations like that.

well, about those pump action shotties.....
I have the jackhammer (piece of crap weapon) and dao(okay, I guess), but I still prefer pumps.... more damage, more ownage....  Dont piss me off in CQB's when I'm an engineer

when i mean spary when you don't have a clean shot you open full automatic like you would do in any intense very cqc
obviously you should when you have the chance aim for the upper torso and head - 2 pulls of the trigger = one dead enemy

the thread starter is just being an asshole - go play counterstrike if bf2 'sucks' so much
i know which i'd rather play ....<3 bf2

Thats war for you it depends what you're situation you're in and what weapons you're using if you're using close range weapons for medium or long range you'll die.

If you use burst / long range weapons up close you die.

Well not always but you know what i mean.

Sniping with Rocket Launcher is fun though haha.

And half the time if your are face to face a knife to the chest works better than a randon spray of bullets.  Not that i can claim to carry out this often but it has worked a couple of times and i have died this way too.

Beeng - Who thats in your Sig?  I am sure you have been asked before but i just had to ask.....
