Okay, I won't make it to long. But it does need to cover allot of stuff.

If you feel that you shouldn't get the final say on it, that other mods should look at it also that's find by me, though I would prefer it if you pm it to them not me as that 1 minute PM thing is annoying if you try to pm many people the same thing.

As I have said numerous times on this thread, chuy gets the final say on everything. I can tell you what I think of it from my perspective, I can tell you what I think he may/may not like, but I can't make any sort of official definitive ruling.

edit: Think of the moderators like policemen. We don't enforce the rules, we just enforce them at our discretion, and a we aren't very popular with a lot of people because of it.

TBH, I think the current method of identifying and dealing with spam is fine. Moderator's discretion seem to work well.
I mean, ahving a definition of what is spam wont stop it, jut like having a definition of stealing doesn't stop people from doing it. Its all about how it is enforced. People will always spam, but hopefully people can learn to do it less if it means we'll actually have somewhere for non-serious topics on trackr.

Also, I find it weird how FM is the only mod to post in here so far

I agree with this completely. I think that maybe the sigs and avs are going saying "LETS GET EE LOLOL" are a bit much, and slightly dangerous, because judging by chuy's past performance, he will go against the general if that's what he wants. I reckon we should all just shut the fuck up about it, he knows we want it, the more we say it the more tiresome it becomes..

IRC is something entirely different. Spam is basically what IRC is.  Since IRC is not a forum, i never consider the two to be related in anything.

I don't think they're too much.

I think they show just how much the community wants this, and are making a conscious effort to cut back on the bollocks that gets posted.

First of all, we have more meaningful conversations on IRC than most of the shit that gets posted here in EE.
I'm assuming you mean 19 perms in general for various people, because I have yet to get an AWM, and I certainly don't even have a temp ban.

And for reference I idle/chat there 24/7, and am an operator on the #bf2s channel along with many else. I pretty much know the difference between IRC and Forums. They live their own separate lives.

So people will shut up until the all-clear is given (the section on trackr is implemented). Then they will proceed to spam their collective asses off as if nothing had happened. If that's how it's going to work than it seems to be an exercise in futility. Yes, certain regulars of Everything Else (when'd it get renamed? again? feh) are mature enough to handle not being total jackasses, but there are those who are not. The latter are the ones being targeted by this and they are the same ones who I fear it will have little lasting effect on. (Incidentally, those are the same people who just like to do things to piss people off and would probably spam to kill this.)

with us (" vets ")  the anti-spam as been expressed in this thread but when we enter new grounds on trackr and new members show up and ignore the rules and begin to spam bc if one wants to spam the name of the section isn't going to stop one spamming

now of course the mods will come in and give swift justice to the spammer but his actions have been posted, the best we can do as " vets " is, don't post anything in the thread or quote the spammer just report and move on
