Some movies look 100x better with grain though. Batman Begins Blu Ray was released with no grain at all and it looks ridiculous, everything looks smooth and sanded down, even faces. A third party encoder added a grain effect to it and it looks significantly better than the original. I think a Bourne type movie (The Green Zone) would need a grain effect to keep with the style of the movietazz. wrote:

Yeah, i found it annoying at times, especially in the dark scenes,
but the plot is awesome, i dont reckon you'd see it much on a TV.. just @ the cinemas XD

Was interesting enough to watch, but the timeline is a bit fucked up. Alot of shit happens without it being explained. Beyonce is in it, which would have made me rate it higher, but she's only in it for less than an hour. And I swear I've seen Mos Def in another film, but I wiki'd him and the I hadn't even heard of the films listed. But yeh not bad

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves - 7.5/10
I know I might get trounced for this because of its classical appeal and technical achievements, but I never thought that this was as well rounded as some of Disney's other films of the line. The movie didn't explain why the animals chose to help Snow White (I suspected it was all a part of the master plan of some forest god to rid the world of the queen) and as innocent as Snow White was supposed to be, she took over the dwarves' lives like the imperious little despot she truly was. Kind though she was, after enough times of watching this movie, I cheer a bit on the inside when the queen knocks her out cold.
For other characters, we didn't really get to see much of the prince or know who his (fruity) character was. Was he just a prop? The queen had an entertaining and evil sense of humor, but she fell off a cliff without any sort of confrontation (as Darth Vader would say, 'all too easy').
Compare this to movies like Sleeping Beauty (8/10) with the whole dramatic battle to save the princess scenario at the end against a villain of unspeakable power, and I'd say this movie falls short.

I´m a sucker for the crazy lsd Alice story and this one was really well done, although Johnny Depp could have been a bit more...engaged. The Crazy Rabbit kinda dominated the scenes at the tea party and throughout the movie it seems he was holding back a bit.
I do ascribe a big part of that to the german localization though, they did the same with him being the caribbean pirate.
