#1  I don't feel bad about cashing any government check and will take anything I can get from the government.  2.5 trillion a fucking year and they still can't get enough to balance the budget and have to up the retirement date for Social Security.  They bleed me dry with their temporary fed taxes, FICA, Mediscare......  and they will until the day I stop working which will be when I die.  Yeah, I'll take everything I can from the government and not feel bad.

#2  Yet just like Lowing I don't support all the government spending.  I don't support the bloated budget and stupid policies, but WHY THE FUCK WOULD I PUNISH MYSELF by not cashing a $2000 child tax credit from the government even though I think it is the stupidest fucking thing I ever seen?

You really should research. There was actually an FBI investigation into your claims (2004). The original work was done by a pre-existing competitive contract with Halliburton (2001). The contract that they are currently working under was bid as well.

You're still treating the Iraq attack as an act of god, something inevitable. Could you explain why? You seem to look at the war as the cause and Halliburton's profits as the effect.

Halliburton etc knew they'd get the contracts. Halliburton etc. had the means to influence national policy. I find it hard to imagine they abstained from wielding their influence.

I'm a traditional conservative. I believe in our constitution. You show me where it says anything about nation building. This type of faction politics is what our founding fathers warned us about. The point was to illustrate that the results of action is not necessarily indicative of the reasons for action. You missed that.

The war was about getting Bush re-elected. Iraq made an easy target to show a position of strong national defense. Americans wanted that after the attacks. The war was not nearly as unpopular in 2003. This was reflective in the congressional votes for the invasion (apparently the majority of congress was taking money from Halliburton ) I suppose it was Halliburton convincing Saddam to ignore years of UN resolutions also.

btw, the company I work for has government contracts all over the US from state, local, and federal agencies.  It has factories in China and Vietnam and I think it is a piece of shit for sending US jobs to communist countries.

Also, the money issues in Cali are mainly because of the people in Cali.  Everyone wants to live in hollyweird.  The houses were/are WAY overpriced.  Very easy to blame the big bad govt, and not toss any responsibility on the people.
