OK I have no problem with out sourcing jobs.



Screw it if you have a child in china build a motor for 25 dollars a week and it cost a man here 900 a week it just makes sense. It brings down the cost of our products and makes them more affordable.



But when you have a country that doesn't speak English as a primary languor, who the fuck figured that it'd make sense to have them be our call centers? example below

her "Hello Mr.

Costello this is Mary from sprint how are you today"
me "I'm OK how are you"
her " I'm calling to let you know that your payment is do with us"
me "OK great I have cash on me where can I go pay"
her "Great I'm going to process the card that we have on file right now"
me "What the FUCK, No I have cash are you fucking retarded"
her "is the last four digits of your Card ****"
Me "NOOOOOOO I HAVE CASH, do not process that card"
Her "what?"

See the problem she was reading off her script with the limited English she knew and could not comprehend what I was saying.. Now over there it cost 300 dollars a week to pay these people, where here a normal call center employee makes about 500. It's not that big of a difference for the service of having someone who can understand the information that you are saying to them..

Lets Bring them back.

And yes they're all out sourced to Indian.. Every once in a while you get someone form the U.S. and it's amazing what can get accomplished

everytime I get in touch with a call center, I tell the operator how much I despise the country I think they are in.  Last time I paid for cable I told them how much I hated the phillipines and he hung up.

Most of the time I've had to deal with them it's been ok. I just try to make my life run so that I never, ever have to call those guys. I don't even answer my house phone anymore, let someone else deal with them if they call my house

sigh. Of course 200 dollars is not a lot when it's just 200 dollars..but multiply the costing increase by several hundred or thousand employees. Are you ready to pay more on your bill to have better service so that the company can maintain profits?

That's basically the reasoning, which I don't agree with, but that's the short of it.

See, it's not just your numerous spelling mistakes.  It's also your terrible sentence construction.  We all know, obviously, that you don't spell out your words when speaking.  If, however, you cannot construct a sentence using the proper words, one can only assume that's also how you speak.

The biggest problem that I've had with call centers is NOT that it is all a scripted response to standard issues.  It is annoying to go through a script, but overall I understand.  The problem with the Indian call centers that I've encountered is that they implode if I have any issue that is outside of their script.

I remember one time dealing with buy.com's Indian call center, and the person was completely unable to facilitate a solution.  What's worse, there was not a "manager" to whom the problem could be elevated.  We were stuck.  The script didn't address my problem and there was no higher level person to deal with the problem.

I eventually had to deal with the issue through my credit card company ...
